“Good Budget Hotel for Amsterdam”

Overall my 3-night stay at Hotel Crystal was pleasant. I'd read several reviews that warned about the narrow, winding staircase so I was prepared! The staff were helpful and friendly. The inclusive breakfast was more than I expected and was very satisfying. The hotel is well located and anyone traveling on a tight budget will find this hotel more than adequate.

“Cute hotel, great Amsterdam experience.”

This is a small hotel but charming and cute. The rooms are spartan but the beds are very comfortable and the room and bath were very clean. The staff is extremely friendly and very helpful. Regardless of the time of the day or night they were consistently professional and always willing to help with a smile. The breakfast was also good (considering it is free). There is an internet kiosk in the dining room and free wifi Internet in the entire building. The location is very convenient to Leidseplein and public transportation, and right next to a Conexxion airport shuttle bus pickup point. Keep in mind that as with many traditional Amsterdam buildings, the stairs are steep and tiny. You may have problems with heavy, bulky luggage, so if you have that try to get a room on the floor above the lobby.

“A little gem.”

A tidy little hotel in a great location with helpful desk people who make you happy to be there. I was even allowed to check in two hours early after an overnight flight.

“Very pleasant experience.”

We were all very pleased with the quality of the service received during our stay. The staff were very helpful and friendly , we emailed the hotel before arrival to request a balcony room and were happy with the immediate response to tell us that there was no problem in arranging that. we would definitely return to Hotel Crystal.

“Met my needs, great location”

The stairs are a little daunting and the room is small, but this is the reality of Amsterdam. Beyond that, the hotel was great: the breakfast was fantastic, the bathrooms were clean and well stocked. The room was cute and comfortable and worth the price. The desk workers were friendly and helpful. The only problem was a housekeeper who took a liking to me and was a bit creepy, but after I reported him for coming into my room unannounced when he thought I was gone, I think he was taken care of.

“Hotel”

Hotel room was too small, bed was up against the wall, could walk around one side to get to the sink and cupboard. Very Claustophobic ! This might not apply to every room in the hotel, overall it was very clean and tidy.

“Right on the Leidseplein”

Our room was just up the steep stairs on the first floor. the beds were three singles and the room size was in typical dutch fashion;small. aside from the cramped quarters the room was clean and the hotel was a stones throw from the Leidseplein.unless you are an agorophobe who has been in one too many coffee shops then head to the Leidseplein for some quintessential people-watching;day or evening.there is a bike rental closeby for the brave at heart and there are several major attractions closeby .Finally,the hotel is only 30 mins walk to centraal station.

“Everything you can hope for in a 2 * Hotel”

Hotel room was reasonable clean and comfortable. It is a 2* hotel in Amsterdam so I wasn't expecting much, but it was cleaner and better than expected. TV had quite a few channels if you need to spend some time in. Free WiFi was quick and easy to use. Breakfast was OK and the staff seemed quite pleasant. Overall a good economical hotel in a great location with good links everywhere.
