“Clean with a great location”
This hotel can only claim a 1-star rating, definately budget, but it's clean and is only a 7-10 minute walk to Dam Square and 5 minutes to a tram stop. There's also a supermarket almost around the corner. The room and bathroom are typically Europe-small, old, and worn. The toilet constantly emitted a slight-moderate sewage smell. Twin beds were very soft and 1 was slanted, which was fixed by wedging a blanket under 1 side. Hallway noise can be a problem if you're a light sleeper. Employees were very helpful and friendly. Lobby/eating area was welcoming and comfortable. Continental breakfast had a good selection.

Area:
Canal Ring, Amsterdam, Netherlands: The classic Amsterdam image of stately canals, the Canal Loop is principally the Herengracht and Keizersgracht, lined with gracious tall 17th and 18th-century houses. Some of these are now museums, most notably the eccentric Kattenkabinet. The Amstel is a more down-to-earth waterway, lined with houseboats and famous for its classic muchphotographed Magere Brug (Skinny Bridge). The floating Flower Market is also a much-loved canal feature.
