“can't wait until the next time”
The hotel was extremely clean and comfortable, The room was ready straight away no fuss. all the staff were really friendly and could not do enough for you, we will use this Hotel again the next time we are in Amsterdam.
“Great place to overnight near Shipol Airport”
Hotel was just fine. I had read a bad review & was a little worried but I found everything satisfacory. Hotel does not have it's own shuttle but don't let this put you off. There is a free shuttle from the airport & a short half block walk to the hotel.
“Baggage problems.”
While this hotel was very pleasant, I would not recommend it for anyone with luggage. There is no elevator and the to reach the bedrooms it is necessary to climb a very steep flight of stairs. One of the staff helped me to take my 3 pieces of luggage upstairs when I arrived but, when I left the following morning to catch an early flight from Schiphol, there was no one around & I had to make 3 trips up & down the stairs to bring my luggage down. Also the shuttle bus to Schiphol does not stop at this hotel & although the hotel says that it is only a 2 minute walk to the shuttle stop it took me over 5 minutes with my luggage & would not have taken much less without it. There is a very busy road to cross & even just waiting for the green light takes several minutes.
“forget it”
Their shuttle is not theirs. WE took it to 500 feet other hotel stop and had to walk back in the rain to the hotel. We called themm and they were not clear on their info, just wait for the shuttle, no one knew their name or..? just forget it. A small piece of steak and 3 tiny lamb chops for almost a $100.
“Won't go back”
No elevator, we had to drag our luggages up the stairs. Room dark and dingy. We paid for triple but triple bed was a cot and the cot was broken so we all had to fit into a double bed. Room had no air conditioning or fan. Bathroom was disgusting. The hotel was in a residential area and no other dining options available other than the hotel restaurants. Restaurant very expensive. To top it all off, the two women in the front desk were extremely rude and unhelpful.
“No Heat/No Help”
The owners do not have an adequate boiler to heat the hotel. They would not change our room. Food was heavy and overpriced. We had no choice but to walk to another hotel two blocks away in order to eat a simple meal in a warm restaurant. The people at the other hotel were wonderful, courteous, welcoming, everything the De Herbergh was not.
