“Great Location, Comfy bed/bedding, nice contemporary feel”

Our group of 4 booked 2 executive rooms for a 6 night stay in Amsterdam. Upon check-in we were pleasantly surprised to learn that we had been upgraded to junior suites. Positives: - great location in Amsterdam - rooms were very spacious with many windows - showers had great water pressure and hot water - very comfortable bed/bedding - steam removal on bathroom mirror and heated bathroom floor were nice luxuries Negatives: - The heat went out in one of our rooms and took 2 days to be fixed, a small space heater was offered for in the meantime - small furniture despite large room size, a lot of wasted space - no wireless internet in rooms, only wired

Area recommendations

Eden Rembrandt is a good centralize location in Amsterdam so you can walk to any part of town easily. It also has easy access to the light rail system.

“not a 4 star hotel”

as stated on other travel review sites the hotel was ok but the carpet was stained in many places making you wonder if it was clean. Another guest also said their room carpet was stained. The internet was not functioning 50% of the time. When I was the front desk to look into the internet problem he said that I could call the company myself. If you room faces the street with the tram, the room is very noisy. This is not a 4 star hotel. Breakfast was ok, the staff were generally friendly. It was not stated anywhere that the Eden Rembrandt Square (4star) is connected to the lobby of the Eden Hotel (a 3 star) by 20 feet. I suspect that both hotels are both 3 stars.

“Fantastic Location”

This hotel was less than a block from Rembrandt Square. It is in a fantastic central location in the city which makes walking to museums and other parts of the city a breeze. The hotel was fairly clean. I did notice some mold and mildew in the shower. There were also some scuffs and pen marks on the wall of our room. If you want to stay in a central location, this is a fantastic hotel.

“Great location, but probably will not go back!”

Hotel has a great location, however the room had weird stains on the floor, gave an unclean feeling during the stay! bed was broken, and needed replacment (that was taken care of). Great Piano Bar called Sopranos accessible from the lobby..

Rembrandt Square is a nice close to almost everything alive area!

“Great location, lovely hotel, would go back.....”

but we would ask for a room that didn't face the busy street. Great location in terms of Amsterdam centre, easy to find from the tram. Nice modern hotel with a very clean feel, but we were woken up a number of times throughout the night with speeding cars and garbage trucks that sounded as though they were coming throug the window. That said it was a great place, just make sure you request a room not facing the main street.

Soo much food to choose from. Recommend the cheese fondue if you can find it (we cou'dn't find the plavce the 2nd night)

“Not Impressed”

Our room was not clean. Black mold on bathroom grout. Regular toilet paper not provided. They use those individual squares. Pump soap at sink and shower. Very convenient location.

“Vaca for my big 3-0!”

The room I was in was very clean, house keeping was prompt and it had a great view of the canal. I couldn't hear any outside noise and it was a decent size. There's a full sized restaruant in the hotel but I didn't dine there, I prefered to eat out in the sqaure, so I can't give its prices. It was always full so if you're into eating at your hotel, I suggest you give it a try. There's internet in the rooms via LAN cable, no wireless. There is wireless internet in the lobby though. Their "internet cafe" consists of one public computer located by the front desk. A couple of ammenities that I think they should supply in their rooms are a mini refridgerator (or ice machine on the floor) and possibly a ipod player. It would've also been better if they'd have more Engilsh programs on tv other than just the news. After walking around all day, it would've been nice to relax with a cold drink and watch a little tv before I went out at night. With availability of satellite tv and the price I paid for my room, I don't think that's asking for too much. Other than those gripes, the hotel was great!

Area recommendations

The area the hotel is located at is perfect. It's just a 2minute walk and you're in Rembrandt Square. Bars, restaurants, coffee shops, fast food, tram stop, night clubs and a leisure area to sit down and people watch is in the center of all of that.

Nightlife

If you want to check out the Red Light it's about a 15-20min walk from the hotel. Shopping is about a 5min walk. The Red Light is pretty cool. Other than the chics in the windows, they have a decent nightlife. If you're into Hip Hop (real hip hop) there's a small bar called The Devil down the road from the hotel, and they play good underground hip hop all night. It's a good, calm relaxed place to chill, drink a beer, smoke (if you do) and relax. The people are friendly and mellow (probably becaue they're high...lol) and it gets a little crowded.
