“A good place to stay”
having read some of the reports here beforehand, we were almost dreading it. It couldn't have proved to be more different. ALL of the hotel staff were extremely friendly, polite courteous - even offered suggestions about how to save costs when travelling and where to eat. Tram 9 takes you to within a very short distance of hotel and they actually announce on the trams that this is the stop for Hem Hotel - couldn't be easier. It is in a residential area but the trams make it so easy to get into the hustle and bussle of the city very quickly - depending on which part of the city you want it takes 10 to 20 mins. Ample heating in all the rooms by reversing the air-con. Breakfast was cheap considering you could just keep going back to the buffet style food as often as you liked and the choice was continental and varied and absolutely plentiful. It was a birthday treat for us and the hotel did nothing at all to spoil a very enjoyable break. The residential area is a bit concretey - but why does that matter when you are there to enjoy the city. Can't fault it at all. Well Done to all the staff!!
“Would DEF stay again!”
I thought for Amsterdam this was a great hotel. It was about a 15min tram into the main city it was still so accessible to everything!!! The hotel staff were wonderful!!! The food for Europe was great, and they served food throughout the evening. The staff was great! Good senese of humor I especially enjoyed the evening staff. The only negative thing to say was the hotel hallways were a little like the shining. It had a blood red carpet and plain white walls. If your looking to have a good time for the right price this is the place. ENJOY
“Hôtel confortable et bien situé”
Hôtel à deux pas du tram, avec parking pas cher à disposition. Pour une visite de la ville, hôtel à recommander : propre, tarifs attractifs, personnel accueillant.
“Very Impressed”
Lovely Hotel on the outskirts of the city center. City center easily reached by No.2 tram and only half hour to walk.
“Helpfull Staff”
They can look after you there, you ask and they inform with pleasure.
“Very Nice Hotel”
The hotel was a very nice place to stay, we arrived and caught the train to amsterdam central and then caught the tram, we got off at the required stop and walked for 4 mins to the hotel it was very easy to do concidering we had never been there before. We had a triple room which was a double room with an extra bed. the room was very nice, clean and had ensuite shower facilities. the rest of the hotel was kept to a high standard and the food was nice although a little expensive. it took about 15mins to get from the hotel to amsterdam which was no problem at all on the tram. I liked the HEM hotel and amsterdam and reccommend going there.
“Great Priced Hotel”
Was very pleased with the hotel for the price we paid. Was expecting less. The room was quite large and very clean. Although with the new smoking laws commencing on july 1st, 2008, meant the room was non-smoking.
“Recomended for first-timers in Amsterdam”
I have to commend the hotel staff, especially room cleaners. Guests are mostly young people from all over the world, but everyone is welcome. The price of breakfast is maybe too expensive, but there are a few food corners near the hotel. Separate lift for the 4th floor is too slow, but it's amusing. We have enjoyed our 4 days there.
“Would definitely use Hem Hotel again”
The hotel is not too far from the centre of Amsterdam and easy to get there by tram or bus. My wife and self had a very enjoyable stay there. The staff were always helpful and the room was spotless at all times and cleaned every day. We would recommend this hotel to everyone.
“nous y retournerons a notre prochain pasage a Amsterdam”
l'hotel est trés agréable le personnel est charmant et trés disponible les transport sont trés accesibles nous avons été ravis de notre sejour
