“Great hotel in a amazing city!”

This was our second trip to Amsterdam. I chose the Grand Amrath this time due to other travelers reviews and boy were they right! This is not only a beautiful building but restored beautifully. Our room was spectacular over looking the city. The hotels location is very convenient yet on a quiet canal a short walk from Central Station (perfect, when arriving after a long flight). The staff were very accomadating. We rented bikes - the convenience of having them right at the hotel was great and the concierge's suggestions for a day trip down the Amstel River was perfect. We're ready to book our stay again!

“A great hotel, central with friendly staff.”

The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. They all spoke good English (as well as several other languages) and gave advice or just chatted to make us feel welcome and valued guests. The advice from the concierge's on how to go about seeing the attractions in Amsterdam we had chosen was excellent. The food at the hotel was very good. We hit "restaurant week" in Amsterdam and the set menu with paired wines was delicious - a real treat. The hotel was an easy walk from the central Train, bus and tram station. Then an easy walk to all central locations and canal boat stops. The hotel was clean and comfortable, the only challenge was finding our way about in the hotel, there were plenty stairs and lifts, but the design of hotel, a converted shipping line HQ, left one going round and round the floors using a different route each time, but we got there in the end.

This is a wonderful hotel. the best hotel in Holland. We loved our deluxe room. The mattress was awesome, the mini bar defintely a big bonus. The staff were very helpful and friendly.. we would recommend this hotel for anyone wanting a very private but very comfortable stay. the best hotel ....

“Excellent!”

We really had a fantastic time here - the hotel is only a 5/10 minute walk from the train station. The room was fantastic with a well stocked free mini bar. The hotel itself is really beautiful - very art deco with lots of history and we would love to go back soon.

“Unique and cool”

Really very unique hotel. Crazy quiet high walls, spacious room and free mini bar incl. whisky, gin etc. 10 minutes walk away from points of interest such as Dam Square

This hotel is fantastic. Large, beautiful room - free mini-bar and Nespresso. Location is a bit out of the way - unless you want to walk through the red light district on the way to many sites. But we managed and would definitely stay there again.

It was great to stay in a hotel in Amsterdam that was as charming a historical building as the rest of the city. I especially enjoyed the complimentary minibar.

Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. Very large room with a super comfortable bed. Remote control drapes since windows were very tall. Bathroom was roomy and very nice - separate shower & tub. Mini-bar really is complimentary and refilled daily. 10 minute walk to Central Station. Helpful hotel staff. Would stay here again. Did not eat at the hotel but there are many places to eat within short walk.
