“Lovely hotel in gorgeous neighborhood”

I picked this hotel because it was off the beaten path. Since I was visiting over Queensday, I knew the areas closer to Dam Square would be overpopulated during my stay. The staff here were welcoming and helpful. My room was cozy and clean and well maintained daily by the staff. I woke early and enjoyed the vast complimentary breakfast before walking the block and a half to the nearest tram stop. Within 5 minutes I was at the Museumplein and within 10 minutes we reached the Leidesplein. I walked quite a bit but the convenience of the trams and buses being so close to my hotel saved me quite a few steps. There is a grocery store around the corner along with various other shops, cafes and restaurants. It was the perfect neighborhood to stay in to enjoy the partying atmosphere and still be able to have a quiet respite when the day was done. I recommend this hotel to all travelers who want to experience the day to day and not just the tourist filled areas of Amsterdam.

“Amsterdam's best kept secret”

Stayed for a week while attending conference at Vrije Univ. I was on a budget but worried about about service so I spent an extra 10 or so dollars per night to bump me up to the Delphi. I was not sorry. There is not enough info on this hotel but take my word for it it is excellent! Philip was on duty when I arrived and was the most gracious host. Everyone was extremely pleasant and the room was always cleaned and the bed made. If you are worried about theft in a strange city, you can put your mind at ease here. Small enough to be intimate and large enough to provide 5 star service. This is a quiet spot between the univeresity and the downtown. you are close enmoughto walk to both or take a trolley which is only a few steps away. A grocery store is also nearby. Even at 11 or 12 midnight the staff was always ready to make a fresh pot of coffee. If you have a budget to consider but have a "discerning palate" This is the one.

“A Pleasant surprise”

This hotel is siuated in a quiet, very pleasant neighborhood with plenty of quality good value restaurants and excellent shopping. It is an easy 10 minute tram ride into all the Amsterdam action. There is no airconditioning in the rooms and our first two days had 30 degC plus temperatures which made for a couple of uncomfortable nights. I read where this hotel provided a shuttle service to/from the airport. This is not the case. Complimentary breakfast was of good quality and choice. Complimentary internet was very fast and super reliable.

“Would go back.”

basic hotel: our room was economy with tin beds. very satisfied with the service and cleanliness. easy access to museum area. Rooms decor modern, could be a little more lively in color. Desk clerks, some were better than others; a smile and response goes a long way for tired traveler ro who is trying to get around. Plenty of informatio n available, phamplets. breakfast was satisfactory, could variety and fresh produce.

“Amsterdam Bank Holiday”

Good: Room was clean and tidy, and well presented. Bad: A fair trip into town, over priced and tv not working in room. Room service consisted of pizza take away menu. Neutral: Never made it to breakfast no idea on quality.

i expected a far better and cleaner hotel - i think i will never book into another best western hotel brand again. the only good thing was the breakfast !
