“Excellent hotel for city break”
We had a room to back of hotel overllooking the canal. It was very quiet and a good size. The staff were extremely helpful. Hotel had good information available about places of interest and trams and buses stopped nearby to take us directly to them. The 69 bus stops nearby and goes directly to the airport which was very convenient.Excellent value for money.
“Gooood”
Not bad at all for this money. Bit far from downtown, but you have trams. Gd strong recommendation
“Comfy stay in Amsterdam”
It is a tiny bit out of town...but no worries at all to get home by tram, straight to the door....and we had no problems getting home after 1:30am. Bed is soooo comfy
“Good city break destination.”
It was very easy to get from the airport to the hotel and everyone we came across was extremely helpful. Amsterdam is a lovely city, but very expensive for food and drinks.
“Quite and Nice”
Our first trip to europe-the hotel is clean and in good condition. The staff spoke good english as well as most everyone else in Amsterdam. The tram is the best way to get around. Somebody needs to tell the Euros that smoking is bad for you. The Hotel should remove the multiple ash and cigarette butt cans from outside of the front entrance. The smokers rule this area. The Hotel fire alarm went off one evening and we all had to evacuate. It was determined to be a smoker set the alarm off. It is a good thing that the hotel is a blue color. I got lost each morning when I went out to run. There is a distinct lack of quality food choices in the area. The area could use a Costco but then I would still complain.
“OK hotel, location a problem”
Read the reviews before booking the Blue Square so was aware the hotel was about 15 min from the centre of the city. As a Londoner who travels an hour or so each day to/from work I didn't consider the time/distance a huge problem. However I was a bit perturbed on arriving at the hotel from the airport to be told by the taxi driver that the area wasn't very safe and I should be careful at night when travelling to/from the centre. So took a taxi on a few occassions when getting back to hotel late, though rest of time took the trams/bus, and no problems. Buget around Eur 20 for a taxi into town vs Eur 2.60 for public transport/Eur 7 for a 24 hr ticket . Aside from location, the hotel was fine as a base: room was clean, hotel staff pleasant and no real issues with the hotel bar cost of breakfast, which was Eur 10, pricey for what was on offer. Would I go again? Probably not, location did prove a problem in the end and a hotel closer into town would have been more convenient.

“A hotel too far away”
The hotel was a bit far from the center of the city. It took us a full day to master the tram and bus systems. During that time we were at the mercy of the local taxi drivers, which was not a happy experience at all. The hotel was clean, spacious, and best of all there was free wireless internet access at our room.
“Good value for price and service.”
Staff was very helpful with parking, trolleys, maps and overall accomodations. Restuarant was al a carte, but food was good. Rooms very comfortable and clean. Location was close to trolley and 15 mins from downtown. Staff also help save by guiding us to free parking spots in the area.
