“Great hotel for short business trip”
Close to 'Leidsche Plein', Amsterdam's main nightlife area. The Rijksmuseum is right in front of you, or stroll down south to Amsterdam's most expensive shopping street. It's a short walk to the city centry, easy access to all shopping areas. There is public transportation nearby which brings you back to Central Station in about 15 minutes. Loved the location, yet quiet. My room was pretty small, but offered a very clean, modern and comfortable bed. A+ shower system for a 3-star hotel. Go to this hotel when on a business trip and catch some nightlife after hours.
“A WONDERFUL TRIP”
a very pleasant stay, helpful staff on reception. great location and good tram link close by.
“Definitely recommend...”
Lovely clean hotel, modern rooms (with a great shower), and very comfy bed. We found the location very convenient, and the staff were polite and helpful to us (Amsterdam first timers). Couldn't ask for any more.
“A pleasant surprise after the mixed reviews”
We were very pleased with our 3 nights stay at the hotel. We have read the mixed reviews and was prepared for some shortcomings as we liked the location. But we need not have worried, our room (on the 5th floor) is huge, with a sitting area complete with a 2 seater sofa; a bench with drawers obviously designed to be a kitchenette though there wasn't any cooking facilities. You do have to ask for the tea/coffee maker, but there was no troubles getting it and refills for it. The double bed is comfortable, the bathroom has 2 separate sinks and clean. The reception staff is courteous, nothing to complain there. The hotel is definitely in an ideal situation next to the canal, the major museums and the Lindensplein for entertainment, but is quiet enough for a good night sleep. If you are travelling light, just take the 197 bus from the airport and get off opposite the diamond museum, just a couple of minutes walk from the hotel. It costs 4 euros, but it is direct and quite regular.
“Nice one”
Can thoroughly recommend the Apollo, very good value, very satisfied
“Sound mid range hotel”
Clean & efficient.
“Three-Star Hotel with Class, Comfort and Great Staff”
We pre-rented through Expedia at the Apollo Museumhotel because our trip was principally intended to focus on the Rembrandts, Vermeers and Van Goghs; all of which are just a few minutes walk from the front door of the hotel. Through Expedia we got a great rate, yes the room was compact but we didn't pay for huge and yet we, a 6'5" and a 5'10" person, fit comfortably! The bathroom was all in marble and very modern and had good quality complimentary products. We had lots of questions of the front desk staff, all of whom were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. They all spoke English beautifully. The breakfast buffet was typically European (which we, two Americans) find delicious and look forward to. Every morning there was a great selection of freshly baked breads, and croissants, pastry, a wide variety of fruits, eggs, sausages, bacon, sliced meats and cheeses, hard-boiled eggs, yogurts, cereals, 3-4 different kinds of juices, coffee and tea. Fact is, I'd love to get that when I travel in the US! No, you won't get a five-star hotel here but you'll save a lot of money that you can spend in this beautiful city, that was good enough for us. We highly recommend the Apollo Museum Hotel.
“Excellent economy room”
Very impressed with the hotel. Lobby and restaurant look newly renovated, but the economy room I was in had not been. Still, the room was nice (if a bit small), and certainly adequate for one person to stay in. Hotel has a few computers provided in the lobby (which was nice, as I didn't bring my laptop along on this trip). Easy walk to Van Gogh and Rijksmuseum (~5 min max), and it's just across the canal from the Leidseplein shopping area. I walked to the Red Light District and Dam Square in about 20 minutes or so, with no problem. The nice thing about the city is everything's relatively flat, so it's not difficult to walk. However, the public transit system is very highly developed, so if you can't walk (or don't want to), you can certainly take a bus or tram to your destination.
“Great location, nice style”

“Good location and friendly desk, clean/comfortable rooms”
