“Good place to stay near the airport”
Friendly staff, clean rooms and good facilities. I arrived quite late at night and was given a warm welcome and plenty of hot coffee. It was also a great relief to be able to smoke, although I realise that Holland too will become a smoke free zone soon. Not being a Dutch speaker, my stay was made easier by the excellent English spoken by everyone in the Hotel and I would definately stay there again.
“Not as close to Amsterdam as we thought”
The hotel is an hour bus ride from Amsterdam, which I wasn't expecting. Assuming my destination was Amsterdam, I figured expedia would provide me with hotels in the city. I suppose it was my mistake not looking at the actual location. It says its 9km from the airport and 10km from city center- I don't think so. The cab ride cost 45 euro there and 31 back from the airport. The staff was very friendly and helpful, they allowed us to stay past check out time since our flight was later that evening. The room was clean but very cold! For a weekend trip, it was a huge pain to have to take the bus for an hour to get into the city.
“Lovely”
Really nice hotel in a quiet little place just outside of Amsterdam. Please bear in mind bus links ONLY no trains or trams.
“OK considering”
Main advantage - proximity to the Uithoorn Bus Station, about a 350-meter walk from the Hotel front door. This was a reasonably priced extended stay in an older property with few amenities. If you don't mind the lack of air conditioning, masonry interior walls, and a slightly musty fountain outside your window, which I didn't, this is a reasonably comfortable selection. It is not particularly convenient to most popular attractions, about an hour bus ride to the train station, a half-hour bus trip to the airport, and within walking distance to nothing. However, motorists will find convenient highway access. Staff was polite and the service was competent. Dining was somewhat incomprehensible,
“Amsterdam Airport hotel, why is it not near the airport? and NO FOOD?!”
Food only served Monday to Thursday. Breakfast only available after 8am at the weekend. Very shabby décor, itchy bed. Service staff ignored all at the bar, repeatedly. They did order a taxi for us and recommended somewhere we could get food. Its near to a bus station, takes two buses to get from airport to "Amsterdam Airport Hotel", which is not even in Amsterdam, its in another city. There is no free shuttle service to this hotel.Taxies are expensive. The tea and coffee making facilities consisted of a vending machine in the reception. Outside the old rotting wicker seats were covered with empty toiletry bottles. The room smelled of cigarette smoke.
“Just okay”
We arrived at the airport and took the Best Western shuttle to the Best Western Airport Hotel, which turned out to be the wrong one. The correct hotel was a 30 euro taxi ride away from the airport and had no shuttle service. And, for advertising that it's only 9km away from the airport, there is no direct bus- you have to take the first bus 1 hour into Amsterdam, then catch another that is 30-45 minutes away from the airport. The hotel itself was fine, breakfast was too expensive for us, but if you have a car it will probably work fine.
“Not Impressed”
First off: Walking down the hallway is like walking through an old mental hospital with all the patients rooms on the exterior walls. Walking into my room- it had a strong musty odor. The layout of the room was nothing like that of the picture on expedia posted for BW. Service was not great but the surrounding area was beautiful.
“Terrible place”
Hotel is at least 1/2 hr from the Airport (5/6 miles), so why it is called BW Airport beats me. Smoke filled bar downstairs (no restaurant) and rooms are upstairs. Closest bus stop about 2 big blocks away. Neighbourhood questionable. Shuttle to Airport Euro 25 (close to $40.00)
“A utiliser uniquement pour les voyages d'affaires”
Ils encaissent taxe de séjour et parking qu'on a déjà payé avec la réservation sur expédia! Service au restaurant lent et un choix assez limité de plats (mais bon on est en Pays-Bas!) Rapport Qualité-Prix OK!
