“Highly Recommended”

We stayed here for 5 nights at the end of April 2006. The staff was friendly. The lobby is such a great touch, with comfortable chairs, a free bar with drinks (hard and soft) and free internet computers. It makes it a nice place to come home to when you are ready to go in for the night but dont want to sit in your room. The only complaint I would have is really personal preference, the bed was a little too soft for me. The room is big for city standards with a double bed, wardrobe, desk, and arm chair with ottoman - it made it a comfortable place to be for 5 days. The hotel itself is perfectly located to walk or tram to anything you would want to see in the city. I did a lot of research before choosing this hotel and was very happy with my choice. You will not be disappointed by this hotel.

“gracious and quiet”

We stayed 2 nights in room 211. It was big and quiet-no view but otherwise perfect. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Comps in the room and lobby were very appreciated( liquor, mixers, wine, snacks, apples, coffee). Breakfast was more than adequate and we would stay there again. The surrounding area was convenient museums and flower market;not as frantic as the area around the train station.

“First class”

Banks Mansion is ideally situated, being within easy walking distance of all areas of Amsterdam. The staff are all most pleasant and helpful and the rooms are spotless. A leisurely breakfast can be taken up till 10.30am, and the Living area, with its endless supplies of tea, coffee, snacks and every kind of cold drink, both alcoholic abd non-alcoholic, makes a comfortable seating area at any time. We will certainly return to this hotel and would wholeheartedly recommend it.

“A real find”

Despite losing one day's accomodation thanks to the volcano, the hotel was everything we expected and more. Rooms were airy and comfortable while the free minibar and bar at reception were a welcome touch. Breakfast was plentiful and the staff were friendly and knowledgable. Will definitely go back.

“Excellent hotel, excellent location, excellent staff!”

The staff were always ready to help - they made restaurant and museum reservations for us. When we had a problem calling home from the room, the desk lady actually came up to the room to help with the problem. They have a stocked bar in the "living room", with coffee, tea, water, wines, liquor all day. They also have breakfast buns in the morning (besides the full breakfast offered in the "kitchen"), candies during the day and cheese, sausages and crackers in the evening for snacks. There is a mini bar in the room, as well as liquor. All these extras are included in the price of the hotel room. The room was a little small, but very well appointed. It was a very lovely stay and I would recommend the Banks Mansion to anyone.

“You can certainly Bank on his Hotel!”

Situated on the corner of the Herengracht hotel and one of the main tramways, this is a fabulously converted old bank building refurbished in a repro-Art Nouveau style. It's brilliantly convenient for all the key sites which are an easy walk or canal ride from the hotel. The staff are young, friendly and efficient with impeccable English and a welcoming smile. The principle of free bar in your room and in the lobby is a first for me and was extremely welcomed..why don't all hotels offer this facility?! Only negative is the fact that smoking is allowed in the lobby area but it is Amsterdam after all!!

“Great Location and Great Staff”

The pictures on the website don't do justice to Banks Mansion! From the time you walk through the doors, you feel the hospitality. Although the rooms are slightly small, they are nicely appointed and very clean. The entire staff was extremely pleasant and treated every guest as if they were very special. I also enjoyed the morning breakfast. A hearty meal in the morning made my day that more enjoyable. The location is perfect! Not only is the hotel located on a wonderful canal, you can walk to just about all the major tourist attractions. The overall neighborhood was vibrant during the day, and peaceful at night. I have found my future Amsterdam hotels stays at Banks Mansion.
