“Centrally located gem”
Not the most inexpensive option in Amsterdam, but especially if you can find a deal or a special offer, a wonderful place to stay. It's located mid-way and easy walking distance between the historic center and the museum area, close to the flower market and the hopping Rembrandtplein and 15 minutes walk to the equally hopping Leidseplein. It's right on the banks of the impossibly charming Herengracht canal. I had a room with no view at all, but facing the back made it very quiet. Lovely and clever furniture, multiple TV stations in multiple languages, very comfortable in every way, huge bathroom with an extra-large bathtub. The bed was great. Only cleanliness concern was some mold at the bottom of the shower stall. All food and drink is included, from the sumptuous breakfast buffet (have the crepe-like pancakes, a Dutch specialty), to all-day coffee and liquor, and snacks including meat, cheese, olives and crackers in the late afternoon). I did have some unfortunate side effects I am fairly certain came from the cut fruit at breakfast, as I had those symptoms the 3 days I had the fruit and did not have them the 2 days I skipped it. Have a banana or orange instead. The staff was great. I bought a huge bouquet of tulips and they gave me a huge vase for them. I left my prescription sunglasses in the room when I checked out, and when I called a few hours later, they immediately said no worries, we have them and we'll mail them to you in the US (for a fee).
“fantastic hotel in amsterdam”
this is a very friendly, comfortable and welcoming hotel with easy access to all parts of the city.service and facilities are both superb.we would highly recomend it to anyone
“great hotel - will definitely be back”

“gret breakfast and cocktail hour.can`t wait to go back”
the hotel is in a great and convenient area fronting on a canal.the staff was friendly and helpful . the rooms included breakfast, coffee, soft drinks and alcoholic beverages. they had muffins in the lobby every morning and very nice cheeses and pates every evening. it is an amazing deal considering the quality of the hotel and staff. i would highly recommend this hotel and would not stay anywhere else in amsterdam.
“nice hotel, friendly staff”
you've probably read other reviews about the Banks Mansion and they're all true. Included in your hotel cost are free drinks, a great breakfast and food in the evening. the room and hotel decor is inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright. the staff was obliging and i found them to be very helpful. it's not a 5 star place but aspires to that end. stay and enjoy Amsterdam neighborhood was central to most of amsterdam. easy walk to the Dam and the museum area
“I will definitely be going back”
Bank Mansion is a lovely hotel, smart enough to host small corporate events and homely enough to make all guests feel really comfortable. The Living area had a real fire, comfortable chairs, free internet access and free snacks and drinks all day long. Breakfast could quite easily have been a feast as they had almost any breakfast type food you could imagine, available for the guests. The bedroom was very comfortable with decanters of whisky, cognac and gin replenished every day. There was also a free mini bar which had beers and soft drinks in it along with a box of Pringles and a Toblerone. We didn't touch the spirits at all. Banks Mansion is most definitely the hotel to go to if you are visiting Amsterdam. I will be back there soon.
“Great location, helfpul service.”
- The hotel is perfectly presented and the staff are super helpful. - The 'open' bar around the foyer was an excellent offering and a great relaxing place to unwind. - Breakfast was delicious and the breakfast room a very comfortable and relaxed place - not your usual cramped and hectic hotel breakfast room! HIGHLY RECOMENDED!
“Beautiful Hotel”
Lovely location, staff very attentive and friendly. Very welcoming lobby area. Free mini-bar in room and free bar in the "sitting room" downstairs brilliant idea. Breakfast hot and cold plentiful. Spacious room, quiet location by a canal. House-keeping tiny bit slapdash, ie floor not hoovered, bathroom floor not swept. Overall lovely hotel, would stay here again.
“Exactly what I hoped for”
The Banks Mansion did exactly what it said it would do which, to a cynic like me, is a refreshing change. I was delighted to find that everything was as I'd hoped it would be. Even the pictures weren't the usual airbrushed efforts which flatter to deceive. The Living, our bedroom , even the box tree shrubs outside looked exactly as they did in the hotel picture gallery. Everything was well maintained - even the shrubs were trimmed whilst we were there The atmosphere in the hotel was relaxed and quietly efficient. Everyone working there was friendly, helpful and professional. All guests were treated courteously. The hotel's location is splendid - close to all the places that we like exploring. In addition, we discovered the Museum of Handbags and Purses just a short walk away as well as a wonderful restaurant, the Zuid Zeeland, which was booked for us by the hotel and served one of the best meals I have had in Amsterdam. My partner and I enjoy visiting Amsterdam and have finally found a hotel to which we will happily return.
“A remarkable and very positive experience”
We chose this hotel based on the scores on this site and we were not disappointed. The staff could not be more friendly and helpful. For example, we stayed there during a heatwave and they came round the lounge with ice creams for everyone - a small act but typical of the hotel. It really is true that the bar and snacks are free, but nobody abuses the privilege. No children were evident, no stag or hen parties, just excellent quality all round. A very good location too. We cannot praise the hotel highly enough and will definitely return.

Canal Ring, Amsterdam, Netherlands: The classic Amsterdam image of stately canals, the Canal Loop is principally the Herengracht and Keizersgracht, lined with gracious tall 17th and 18th-century houses. Some of these are now museums, most notably the eccentric Kattenkabinet. The Amstel is a more down-to-earth waterway, lined with houseboats and famous for its classic muchphotographed Magere Brug (Skinny Bridge). The floating Flower Market is also a much-loved canal feature.
