“Brilliant budget hotel”

we were slightly worried about this hotel after reading some of the other reviews. however we were extremely satisfied with the apple inn. we had a quad room and the room and bathroom were always very clean. the breakfast was nothing special but did its job! yeh the stairs were steep but they were like that everywhere in amsterdam. there is a tram stop outside the hotel which takes you to the centre in about 10 mins. you will need the tram to get to all the different sites anyway so its no extra trouble and they run to about 12.30am. overall this hotel was perfect for a busy trip on a budget.

“Excellent service”

The hotel staff and owner were extremely accommodating to my every need. I arrived with a cold. They made tea for me in the afternoons with lemon and honey. They ordered out for me from nearby restaurants. They waited to clean my room when I left for lunch. I felt like I'd arrived at a solicitous aunt's house.

“Good Hotel”

This hotel was great, although it is not as close to the main areas of the city than I initially thought. You need to take the tram back and forth which is a 20 minute ride.

Just spent three days at this hotel with our grand daughter. Found all staff to be polite and very helpful. Room was nice , comfortable and very clean. Was in a nice neighbourhood and within easy reach of station and main centre. Tram stop close by hotel. Only drawback is the stairs, very steep, but usual for a dutch hotel. Very good for a two star hotel. would definately go back again.

“this was fine”

I found the staff to be accomodating and the hotel to be fine. The less expensive rooms are small, and those in the front do get the noise of the traffic, as is to be expected on a moderately busy street. For the price, I would recommend it. It is in an very pleasant neighborhood with very good restaurants, and the tram is almost outside the door, with a 25 minute trip to the Dam through interesting neighborhoods, inlcluding the one that includes the Van Gogh Museum.

“Would Recommend”

Ideal base when visiting Amsterdam - quiet,leafy suburb with good access to centre. Hotel was comfortable and clean - good continental breakfast served each morning. Only improvement to suggest would be provision of drink making facilities in room. Some lovely Brasserie's very close serving excellent food.

“Oktoberfest silliness”

The hotel staff was courteous and helpful, though they left for the night at 10:30. This left the front door locked, and many guests didn't have a spare keycard to gain entry. These guests banged loudly on the front door. Sound travels very well in this hotel, and the drunken revelry (my stay was during Oktoberfest) was quite loud.

“If you need somewhere just for a bed, then this is your place. Perfect for students”

We went in a group of 4, one of our rooms was dwnstairs and had a balcolny, which is a room i would definetly recomend for students. The only quarral with the room was that a lot of mosquitos are regular in summer. As it was pretty warm we had the window open through the night, so they crept in at night, did their business then snuck out for morning! The continental breakfast provided is pretty good. In my opinion if your going to a foreign country, especially in Europe then you might as well eat the continental breakfast they provide you. I cant understand why some people on holiday are adamant on having an English fry-up for breakfast when you can try something new. The hotel is positioned quite well. Its on a tram route, there is a massive park very close, shops, bars a supermarket and a coffeeshop are within a reasonable walking distance. We walked to the Van Gogh museum from the hotel, its nice seeing the sights along the way. Another small problem is the stairs, they are pretty steep! All in all i enjoyed staying there, as i said before, its perfect for students or if you just want somewhere to crash.

“Très bon accueil et bon rapport qualité/prix”

Hôtel que je recommenderais sans hésitation. Accueil très sympathique avec un personnel parlant très bien le français. Tout le personnel de l'hotel est très agréable. Situé près du grand parc d'Amsterdam, avec quelques restaurant aux alentours, sinon à 30 mn de marche on trouve tout un quartier avec que des restaurant de toutes sortes.

“Receptionist did not have the best of attitudes”

The hotel only had one room available for me when I arrived, when I had reserved two nights. They made phone calls to accomodate me on another hotel, which gave them a price for my second night over the telephone. When I arrived at the other hotel, the price was higher. The apple Inn was very confy. The receptionist had had a long day and was not in the best of moods. She try hard, thou.
