“wonderful experience”
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Eden American hotel. The entire staff was more than willing to assist you in any way possible. The room was larger than expected and very comfortable. The bank of computers for guests on the second lobby was very convenient. Directions to museums and other sites were answered quickly and cheerfully by the desk clerks. who provided maps to your destination. This hotel was close to everything and the neighborhood charming and friendly. Taxis were waiting at the door or a tram was only a few yards away. Offices to change money were across the street. I had a wonderful stay here and wouldn't hesitate to do so again.
“amsterdam, my new home.”
The hotel staff was very nice and attentive to our needs. Their resturant was nice. We had a late breakfst. Good service there too. Hotel staff was very good about cleaning the rooms every day. Luckily a I read several reviews before booking this hotel and it was beneficial. During my stay I traveled the entire city and the othr hotels locations didnt compare. The hotel had everything we needed that we forgot like plug adapters, etc. When I go back I plan to stay here again. We recommended a room with a canal view and we got what we asked for.
“FOR Americans”
If you go their and want to see all the city has to offer and like an upscale attitude this one is it ultra efficient Butt...if you go to amsterdam and want cannabis and dress casual and want to relax in the bar or restaurant without dressing up you might feel out of place Bill 54 bay area.
“Great location right at Leidesplein.”
This beautiful, old hotel is so impressive from the outside. Small lobby but really friendly, helpful staff. After one night in our first room just above street level, we asked to move to another room. They moved us to an interior room, much quieter. Location can't be beat. Easy access to museums and transportation. Plenty of choices of food/drink right in the area. It was a great operations base for our action packed trip to Amsterdam.
“Perfect Central Amsterdam Hotel”
The Eden Amsterdam American Hotel was a lovely last stop on our vacation to the Netherlands. Staff were helpful and friendly. You did not have to ask for help; they were every one - forward thinking. Room was clean and fresh. We also ate in the hotel restaurant and had a delicious lamb dinner. Great waiter staff who watched over us without hovering. On our next stay in the Netherlands, we will be staying here!
“A hotel with character”
I was very pleased with the hotel and service. The food was excellent in the Cafe Americain. My only disappointment was that there really wasn't a lobby. The location was great and in a really nice part of the city.
“Architectural beauty right on Leidseplein Square”
The hotel is in a great location on Leidseplein Square which is convenient to everything. Its great walking out and being in the middle of "activity". The Building and restaurant are beautiful. The lobby/entry is a little plain and simple for the rest of the hotel. (Would have liked there to be someone to help with luggage in/out of hotel since it was up about 5 stairs.) The room was a nice size but not all the views are equal. It was great having the restaurant on-site for breakfast (beautiful room, delicious breakfast) and a really good bar. Definitely would recommend this hotel and return again!
“Had a great stay!”
We stayed at the Eden American Hotel for a total of 3 nights along with our 2 kids and had a great time. The front desk was helpful and efficient and the rooms were clean and relatively spacious by European standards. Actually, the beds were really comfy. Location was great and central to everything. Our room was on the 4th floor and was pretty quiet. Definitely recommend!
“Will definitely stay there again”
The location was fantastic. It was near many restaurants and museums. Even my 5 year old enjoyed it. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and everything was clean. The rooms (and bathrooms) were much larger than typical European hotel rooms, and ours had a fantasitc view (we were on the 4th floor). Breakfast at the hotel restaurant was delicious (although pricier than going out). We will definitely go back and stay at the Eden American again (and bring an umbrella next time). If you have a picky eater (who is used to American food), there is a nearby McDonalds and Starbucks. I definitely recommend eating Indonesian food (Puri Mas was a fantastic restaurant and on the same street as the McDonalds and only twenty euros for each adult and with a kids menu for my daughter).
“Outstanding!”
Restaurant meals in Amsterdam are very expensive; The special price for buffet breakfast at the hotel when booked 24 hrs in advance seemed expensive until we tried out an alacart menu close by. It's a great deal! The location is fantastic; right in the center of all the activity. An exciting place to stay.
