Very, very nice hotel just as advertised. Only problem is that there is not much in the area. There is one bar/restaurant within reasonable walking distance. But the hotel itself as a bar and restaurant with very good food with reasonable prices and the same goes for the bar. They have a free sauna and rent bikes. The hotel is a short walk from the Metro, approximately 5-7 minutes. Metro is several short stops from Amsterdam central/Central station. Approximately 20 minutes by train from the airport, simple and cheap. Unless you have a lot of luggage, I suggest you save some money and take the train. Unfortunately there is no shuttle provided by the hotel. Maybe they should look into providing one at some point.

So, we visited mercure amsterdam airport hotel at the beggining of Nov. Firstly, the shuttle service is perfect and as soon as we met the lovely receptionist/driver that picked us up, we were already looking forward to seeing the hotel. The check in was very quick and efficient, we got day/night bus information, amsterdam city map and we just paid the deposit. The room was lovely and clean, with a huge bed and cofee supplies. The whole stay was very nice, we didn't use the restaurant option because we found it a little expensive for our budget. The only thing to consider is that if you are going for an amsterdam city experience and want to explore the city with some hotel breaks...its probably better to spend more on a centrally located hotel. The bus is very convenient to use but if u want to go visit in daytime and get back for some time before going out in the evening it can be a bit of a headache. The bus ride (197) is €2.50 pp/per way and there is no option for a travelcard or tourist pass as it is a connexion line and they don't have any discounts with travel cards or anything else, thevride to lijedsplein is about 15 mins. The night bus (N97) is same € but if u don't mention u are going till mercure hotel the driver will charge €5 each (it happened to us). Overall, a lovely hotel with good service, would definitelly use mercure again.

The room was small but very nice, quiet and comfortable. The staff were very friendly. The hotel was nicely located for us. We found some nice places to eat close by and it was a plesent distance into the centre. Breakfast was very nice. We would stay here again.

We stayed there to catch a morning flight. Check in started at 8pm, so, we kept our luggages at the hotel concierge then hanged around at the airport. But if you like, you can go out of the airport to go to the city. I heard that it takes about 20mins by train. The room was spacious enough, clean and quiet. It had a kettle to make some coffee/tea too. At the front desk area, they sell instant noodles, drinks and snack. and ohh... we got some apples for free :). We will definetely stay again.
