“Very impressive, happy we picked the Iowa House”

The lobby and first floor environs are so warm and inviting, we almost cancelled our plans and just stayed in! The rooms are spacious and well appointed. The beds are of high quality. The breakfast was delicious, and served with a friendly attitude. It's the quietest hotel I've ever slept in. Most gracious hosts. I felt the price was a bargain for what I received. I recall the house when it was a fraternity. It is so much nicer now than then, and it was a nice house then!

Now THIS is hospitality! Wonderful restored historic property convenient to Ames shopping and dining and the University of Iowa campus. The innkeepers are an ideal balance of professionalism and friendliness. Very helpful with local and travel information. Room was spotless, spacious and comfortable linens and bedding. The breakfasts and freshly baked treats in the evenings were delicious - very skilled in the kitchen. Will stay here again on our next visit without question and would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.

“The only place to stay in Ames”

We've stayed at Iowa House several times in since they have been open and wouldn't stay anywhere else while we are in Ames. The location is perfect being just blocks from campus. The service is top notch and the breakfast each morning is worth getting up early (even if you don't have to)!
