“Villa Flavio Gioia - A Home Away from Home”

My husband and I spent 8 nights at Villa Flavio Gioia at the beginning of September 2011, and we left regretting we couldn't stay longer, but hoping that someday we may come back. I only have laudatory words for the owners and the personnel of this establishment! Conveniently located in the heart of Positano, in the main pedestrian part of the town and a throw away from the main beach, the Villa was our vacation home away from home. For our stay, we booked a superior studio, and, upon check-in, we have been given the key to the Attico, on the last floor. We were extremely surprised to find that our studio was the only one on that floor, and the huge terrace surrounding it was only for our private use, with a large marble table and 4 wrought iron chairs, and 2 lounge chairs for sun bathing. The view from the terrace - spectacular! The sea and the beach at the front, and the coloured houses built vertically on the mountain at the back. Inside, the studio was large enough to accommodate a small kitchenette, provided with sink, small fridge, electric stove (2 burners), and pots, pans, dinner wear, glass wear and cutlery enough for basic cooking. The cleanliness of the studio was impeccable! Every day, the towels were changed and the marble floors washed (inside, as well as on the terrace) spotlessly. The bathroom was large, with a large shower cabin and very good shower. Beach towels were also given, so don't carry yours. And don't mind the stairs (50 steps), there is no lift!

Amazing service, friendly and speak english. The rooms have little kitchenettes which were awesome for cooking our own meals when we got sick of pizza and pasta, there is a little shop directly below the hotel where we could buy food and wine. Fantastic place, can't wait to visit again. Highly highly recommend :)
