“fantastic hotel and location”
highly recommended, beautiful gardens and views
“Beautiful hotel in photogenic town”
We stayed just three nights in May, and had a wonderful time. The hotel is beautiful, in a fantastic position right in the heart of the town. For us its real delight was the garden, which has sun-loungers discreetly at the far end. The whole garden is beautifully kept, a hidden gem in a town with lots of flowers but no gardens. We had a garden room, No. 35, with its own balcony/terrace, which was a lovely place to sit. Rooms on the higher floors probably had better views, but I preferred having a good-sized private outdoor space, with a table and chairs, overlooking the lemon trees. The green and gold tiled cathedral dome is close by, and adds to the feeling that you are staying somewhere both scenic and historic . The staff are all very friendly and professional, and genuinely concerned that everything is as you want it. Breakfast on the terrace was a real treat - delicious food and lovely surroundings. The free wi-fi worked well. Being British we took a travel kettle and supplies of Earl Grey, and were glad that we had done so, as there wasn't a kettle in the room. That apart, I couldn't fault the Palazzo Murat, and would love to go back.
“we will be going back next year”
The trip and the hotel was great
“Perfect location”
I had been to Positano once before and stayed way way up high. I had always wanted to stay right in the heart of the little town but couldn't have asked for a better location. This hotel is beautiful! The restaurant is beautiful, rooms are very large and clean, front desk is helpful, breakfast is great. I cannot say enough. This was one of our favorite hotels of the whole trip. And you walk out the door and are right in the midst of the shops and restaurants. It was a very relaxing stay.
“Excellent location and hospitable staff”
We had a wonderful time at the Palazzo Murat. The free boat excursion was fantastic!! That was the highlight of our stay. Thanks for the special treatment we received for our honeymoon. It was a very special touch!
“Delightful”
A beautifully appointed room, done in the old style but with climate control. A balcony looking out upon a riot of flowers and a lemon tree. A lovely lounge with wireless access. A terrific staff who had a porter ready for our 4:30 AM (!) departure.
“Wonderful service in a stunning location”
Wonderful hotel with incredibly helpful and friendly staff. Beautiful location - the Deluxe rooms are fabulous. There is not much they could have done better for us.
“Just Great!”
Everything was great with this hotel. We had a room with a garden view which was big and we have enough room for our baby crib. The breakfast is really good and the food and service in the restaurant just awesome. Not that close to the beach, though. It is located in the pedestrian zone of the village so you don't have to worry about the cars in the narrow streets of Positano.
“we went just for three nights four our honemoon and we would love to go back sometime!”
It was a wonderful experience staying at the Palazzo. The view, having breakfast at the patio, the service, everything just perfect.
“Lived up to other reviews”
Brilliant hotel in an excellent location. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Only way to access hotel is via very steep, windy pedestrian area but worth it once you get there. Hotel will book parking for you if you ask them in advance. Food was lovely, wine list was extensive and ranged from 30 euros to silly prices. On comparison with other restaurants in Positano it was probably one of the best - you couldn't beat the ambiance and beautiful garden setting, it gave it a quiet and peaceful feel as opposed to the noisy and over crowded restaurants on the beach front ,and the prices were only very slightly higher. Seemed very popular with the locals who obviously go there for their special occasions. The more expensive the room - the better the view! Ground floor rooms overlook the garden, but 1st and 2nd floor rooms have a magnificent view of the town and the sea. Would highly recommend.

Area:
Positano, Italy: A desirably picturesque tourist haunt, Moorish-style houses cling to Positanos steep hillsides. Its a pleasant walk down to the small grey beach and fishing harbour via narrow, flower-decked alleyways and steps, but the return journey takes some effort (luckily theres a bus). A domed church is Positanos main landmark. The town celebrates the Feast of the Assumption on 15th August by re-enacting a famous victory against the Saracens.
