The complimentary brekfast was OK but cereal and milk would be a good addition. Thank you for being a pet friendly hotel!

“Clean and comfortable”

I can't think of anything to fault the Econo Lodge on. It's obviously a no-frills hotel, but it provided what I was looking for, so I'm happy.

“It was ok”

My husband and I drove from Kentucky to see the Penn State vs. Ohio State football game. We decided to stay in Altoona on the way, and of course I made the mistake of letting my husband book the hotel. It was just about the cheapest place to stay, but I would have rather spent a few extra bucks to stay someplace a little nicer. I'm not a big fan of motels, and this one was no exception. Although the women at the front desk were friendly, I was dissapointed that they made no effort to help fix our TV. The remote control was not working, and when my husband called, they said he could walk all the way over to the office (which was a separate building) and get new batteries. He walked down there only to receive the wrong kind of battery and only one of them anyways. Also, the vending machine was a very far walk and not very well lit. There was only one machine and they only had limited Pepsi products. The bed was not very comfortable and the pillows were absolutely horrible. They were only about 2 inches thick. Oh yeah, and did I mention the place smelled really strange (especially the front desk area)? Overall, I really wouldn't recommend staying here. It's totally worth it to spend a few extra bucks to stay in a nicer place.

“Not the 5 star type but a great value”

The price is great and you cannot expect restort type accomadations for this wonderful price. I will stay again because it is clean and you cannot beat the price.

“Pay a bit more for somewhere nicer”

The outside temperature was in the 30's and there was no heat on in the room when we arrived. It took a long time for the room to heat up. We sat for a long time in our coats. The room was in poor condition but this was just an overnight stop. The sheets were clean. In the morning when we went for breakfast the area is very cramped with only a 4 small 2 person tables to sit at. There isn't room for more than 3 people in the food area. There are "rules" of what cups you are allowed to use for juice and a small boy was yelled at by "Carol" for using the styrofoam cup instead of the clear juice cup. The waffles were good. There were packaged donuts and english muffins. There was instant oatmeal to make but NO MILK. I do not recommend staying here unless you really don't care and just want a place to sleep for a few hours.

“not impressed”

It was just OK...not terrible..but very tired..needs a redo. Noisey! Best part was the continental breakfast waffles!

“not very good, breakfast staff was not polite”

The staff member that refills and cleans breakfast area was very rude. She complained about doing her job!! There were ants in the breakfast area, on the wall and counter. VEry disapointed it the food. the hot water was cold for oatmeal and there was no bread for toast, what was the toaster for?
