Was great. Loved the room. But Food not included in the dining area. You have to add it to receive a ticket or voucher coupon. I think check out said $2 per person more (could be a bit more) but check before you finish reservation. Don't forget to add if you want to eat. Otherwise you pay more on site like a regular restaurante.

I asked to be moved to another room due to the one I was at it had a very very humidity smell. I know it was closed due to the pandemic of the coronavirus only through online or Expedia but they could've had some lights on it looked so dark and kinda creepy to be honest. The staff were awesome just the hotel itself needs some remodeling in my own opinion.

My stay at the Holiday in in Tampico was beyond all preconceived expectations that I had before I arrived. The driver Jose spoke excellent English as did much of the staff. I was able to get a ride on the shuttle from the airport in a brand new van which excellent air conditioning. My check in was flawless with again excellent English speaking staff. My room was so clean, much cleaner than most hotels I stay at in the USA. The bartender Angel was entertaining, told me I looked like I needed a beer (how could he tell after 19 hours from when I woke up in New Jersey and this was three flights later) offered me a delicious, crisp and ice cold Victoria. I was too tired to eat and ordered just guacamole and chips. Man let me tell you it was the best I’ve ever had. The hotel provided the shuttle to my customers visit, I had to go to two gates to watch a safety video and he picked me up 2 hours later. Then took me to the airport. Totally gratis. I highly recommend this hotel and if you go tell them I said hello!

Staff seemed overwhelmed when the bar / restaurant got really busy. The bar seemed to run out of certain items in the drink menu rather quickly.

Cancelled Reservation No Notice - Left Stranded
Nice hotel facility, but be careful. The hotel shuttle met me at Tampico Airport. but I was stranded at the hotel. They overbooked and cancelled my reservation without any notice. It was very late at night, and I was new to Altamira. Very bad situation. Travelocity help line confirmed my reservation was not cancelled. They offered another hotel, but 25km away. Their focus was to assure I was not charged by Hoiday Inn. My focus was to get a late night hotel nearby and get to my business meeting early the next morning. I found one.

Classic Holliday Inn
I have stayed several times at the Holiday Inn Altamira. It is probably the best hotel serving the Altamira area. Most of the guests are working in the petroleum industry, either constructing or maintaining petroleum-related facilities. It is not a garden spot, but it does the job. The rooms are spacious, the air-conditioning works, it is clean and well maintained. The food and drink is good, and service responsive. All in all they work hard at trying to please their guests.

This was a short trip, but quite nice indeed. The hotel was fresh and updated, with an entirely new addition or rooms, with modern amenities and great comfort. I'd highly recommend this hotel to travelers in the Altamira and Tampico area. One big thing...I left some valuables in my room after I checked out and the staff and management took great care and I retrieved it all several hours later. That sort of thing goes a very long way in my opinion.

We have reasons to visit the Port of Altamira, so this hotel is very convenient. It is clean, neat, well staffed, and hospitable... although a traditional Holiday Inn. Food is OK.

Plan on little issues
service staff couldn't have been more pleasant, but at the same time couldn't have made anything more difficult. Examples, didn't have enough pesos on hand to give change for a 500peso note for a 300 peso bill. bar tender went on 30 minute break and no one else was able to get my bill so I could pay. Last example I'll share, couldn't charge to my room...after elevating to the manager they hadn't run my card and therefore didn't have it on file to allow charges to my room. None of these things should have occured.

Nice hotel close to the port and industrial areas
There is no much around the hotel but a small convenience store reached by going across a zebra crossing bridge. However the hotel restaurant is very nice, with good food and wonderful service. The room TV had an amazing amount of satellite channels Not to common in 3 star hotels. Beds are very comfy and Internet worked well. Service was great from the person who picked me up at the airport (shuttle) and took me all the way to the room, to the restaurant servers and the front desk staff. These last ones made me copies, printed boarding passes, etc. Great for business people.

I forgot that there is no hot water in Mexico. Also, I thought I could charge meals to my room and pay when checking out. I only realized the mistake when the waiter was pounding on my room door at 10:30 p.m. Very strange.

Not a typical Holiday Inn
The hotel is out of the way and is right beside a semi trucking business so you hear alot of noise day and night. They do not have the same amenities as the states so if that is what your expecting bring what you need because they will not provide it. The room was large and the bathroom nice but the bed and pillows were not comfortable at all. They have a small pool that looked nice but due to the weather I was not able to get in. They have a bar and restaurant and they do not provide a free breakfast here like they do in the states. I do not think it was worth the money I spent on it, but that is just me.

Diamond amongst the Coal
The food. The food and the food. The hotel is clean and the staff is fantastic. The room was a bit blank in that there are no paintings on the walls. Not very cozy. It was clean and this is a beautiful thing considering the neighborhood.Did I mention that the food in the restaurant was beautifully prepared and served by a friendly attentive staff. I had to eat breakfast lunch and dinner there and always found something good.
