“good hotel”
wi fi needs improvement
“Absolutely loved this hotel!”
Hotel Hirsch is centrally located in Fussen, just a couple blocks from the train station. The staff were very friendly and spoke superb English. The hotel was very clean and comfortable...the only complaint is that there was no air conditioning and no fan in our room, making it very difficult for a comfortable night's sleep (we experienced this elsewhere in Europe, too). Otherwise, we absolutely loved this hotel, and would definately stay there again (but maybe not when it is so hot!)
“Great Stay in Fussen”
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a great location, just steps away from tourist information and the main pedestrian streets of old town. It is also a short walk from the train and bus station. I would definitely recommend a stop here before or after a visit to the castles.
“Better Than Expected”
Sorting through reviews by others can sometimes be exhaustive and confusing. But in this case, my experience came down on the side of the positive ones and exceeded what I expected before arrival. First, the hotel location is perfect! Right in the center of town, across the street from the old city (Altstadt), with it's own small parking lot, 100 meters from a public parking lot, and less than 10 minute drive from the castles. The staff were very friendly on both arrival and departure. The breakfast offering was good. I would definitely stay at the Hotel Hirsch next time I am in the area.
“Perfect experience”
This is a "not miss"... classy and old world. Very charming with a great location. Clear as a whistle with great towels and lots of them. If you are going to visit Ludwig's castles, don't stay anywhere else.
“Lovely hotel”
Lovely hotel just outside the walled city of Fussen. Very convenient to all tourist attractions. Charming with very clean rooms. Terrific breakfast buffet.
“Wish We'd Stayed Longer”
We stayed at Hotel Hirsch for two nights and wished we'd stayed longer. Fussen is such a beautiful little place and you can easily spend 4 days there. Many people just come for King Ludwig's castles but there is also cross country skiing, hiking, day trips to Austria etc.... make sure you spend more time here! The hotel was really good value and the staff were personable enough without being over the top. We didn't eat in the hotel restaurant but did have an after dinner drink there and other people's food looked really good, we ate dinner both nights at the Italian restaurant across the road in the Old Town (La Perla?) it was amazing. The tiramisu was the best I have had in my life, although they only seemed to have one waitress and she worked very hard! The buffet breakfast at Hirsch is fantastic. The hotel is right in the centre of town, about 5 minutes walk from the train station.
“Beautiful hotel near "Cinderella" castle”
Very beautiful hotel. Conveniently located. Excellent buffet breakfast. Very good staff and helpful. No air conditioning and on a busy street, so ask for a room away from the street!
“nice stay”
we got a 4 bed room, it was spacious and clean. the beds were comfortable and the room had even an small table and coach. the restaurant was good, although my son had stomach ache after eating a plate of hirsch, perhaps was too late? other than that our stay was pleasent and good. it is right across the street to the entrance to the old town and a few blocks from the main plaza. good choice.
