“A Wonderful Time”
We were based in the Waterside Gardens Block 5 and our apartment had a wonderful view of the pool and the sea. We had paid a little extra for a superior apartments and it certainly was superior. The apartment was fantastic with a fully equipped kitchen including washing machine and dishwasher, lounge with TV/DVD, two furnished balconies, two bathrooms - one of which was en-suite. We even had a barbecue which we took advantage off in the fantastic weather. We did not see a cloud for two full weeks during August. I would not hesitate to recommend the resort to couples and families although nightlife is very limited. There is a much wider choice of restaurants and bars in nearby Lagos - about a ten minute bus ride away. We did the coastal walk to Burgau which took us around one and a half hours at a leisurely pace. This was beautiful. We did attempt the coastal walk from Lagos but gave up at Porto de Mos. I would suggest only very keen walkers try this one - especially in the summer heat. Staff at the apartments were very helpful and everyone spoke English. There are also good tennis and watersports facilities although my daughter's attempts to go windsurfing were hindered - there always seemed to be too much or too little wind! If you want a nice relaxing pool/beach based holiday, I would recommend Praia da Luz.

very good sized villa, there were 4 of us. fantastic view from our deck.

We were placed in a 2nd floor beachfront apartment with terrace and full kitchen. Excellent family spot.

Our stay in Praia da Luz was great. I recommend it to anyone but specially if you have a family. Everything there is in a walking distance and the Portuguese are very friendly people. We stayed very near the beach and our appartment was very well situated: 10 minutes from the swimming pool, the market and the reception. There is no air conditionning in the room but the wind is very strong and it's not hot during the night. Make reservations if you want to go out to dinner or try to go before eight o'clock. The service in the 24h reception is very helping. The beach is nice though the water is very cold. A little paradise...
“second visit”
this is the second time we have stayed at this acomodation and it is just beautiful. The standard of the accomodation is by a large fantastic. I say this as there are a few rooms that have older decor. But in the main these rooms are very well equiped each time we have had a washing machine and dishwasher as well as many other home comforts. The best accomodation for us was the waterside village as many of these are situated close to the beach and have fantastic views of the sea, although most other properties have sea and or pool views also. all in all very impressed by the resort!!
“Adequate hotel for price”
The room itself was fine, not outstanding but not bad. The staff were pleasant and helpful. It is NOT, however, 50 meters from the beach. It is a minimum of 500 meters/10 minute walk and not easy to get in and out of. We were looking for something right on the beach and were led to believe this was it. Like I said, it was ok, not what we expected for location.
