“Great for some R & R”
Been to Carvoeiro several times before, but this was the first time at the Tivoli. Set on the cliffs overlooking a small secluded beach, the location is superb with just a five minute stroll to "Restaurant Hill" where there are lots of restaurants, bars and cafes. Staff were all very friendly and helpful, without being over powering. Our sea view room was large with a queen size double bed and was equipped with satelight TV which could receive English channels. (BBC1, ITV etc.) Buffet breakfast was excellent with a massive choice of hot and cold dishes with omelets cooked to your own liking. If you want to unwind for a few days, this hotel is ideal.
“fantastic hotel just one let down, they didnt have an iron or press in your room”
fantastic hotel for couples, fantastic location, friendly staff just one let down was no iron or press in room
“Perfect honeymoon”
This hotel is truly beautiful from the reception to the balcony view. We stayed here at the end of July 2005 for our honeymoon, we were taken to our room by the porter where we found complimentary champagne, and they had allocated us one of the rooms with the best view across the sea.The friendly small is town located at the bottom of a hill, which is lined from top to bottom with little shops and bars/ restaurants; the best of these by far is Antonios which serves a variety of foods. All of the bars and restaurants are well worth a visit. The dolphin seafaries from Portimao near by are superb, best to book ahead and go in the morning to have the best chance of seeing dolphins. Zoomarine is also excellent, but if you wish to swim with the dolphins book in advance, especially in peak season. Slide and splash is a must, it rained when we went, and it was brilliant!!! This would make an ideal holiday location for couples of any age and we intend to come back with our 3 girls in 2006 as it is also a great family hotel and area too!
“best view ever”
superb hotel wether for pleasure or business with some good golf deals in winter.couldnt find any faults at all and will be going back.
“Extremely Impressed, want to go back now!”
Hotel is really nice and clean. Staff all very helpful, they speak english which was one of our worries as we had never been abroad. The pool's are clean and the view is breathtaking. It has it's own private beach where you can do scuba diving with the Instructors. (fee to pay)
“Very satisfied”
Noted an earlier review thought hotel was a little tired, Either the hotel has been refurbished since that review or that person saw something we did not. we stayed in room 434 and everthing was good; some may find the bathroom a little dim but that is due to the colour of the natural marble used. Breakfast was excellent and the staff went out of their way to please (the hotel was not full). I would recomend this hotel to anyone, who like us, likes Carvoeiro
“Cocktails at Sunset”
After returning home following our visit to the Algarve, our thoughts are on returning to the Almansor. We could not fault the hotel from its spectacular location to its impeccable service. The highlight was enjoying the view with cocktail in hand from the 5th floor terrace bar. We could only praise the excellent food and service at the many local restaurants which are not to far away.
“Would Recommend”
Lovely hotel, great sea view, beautiful pool, very good breakfast. Only 5 minutes walk to small town. 5 minutes walk to lovely beach. Would certainly go back and stay and Recommend friends. All staff very friendly and helpful.
“Very good value”
Not the best Hotel we have ever stayed at - but probably the best value. A good Hotel at a very reasonable price - no reason to complain unless we were looking for things to complain about - which if pushed - then the service could have been a little quicker in some cases & the beach is pretty much unusable - unless you are able to climb down a ladder - direct into water at high tide. Overall however we were very happy with this choice.
“Fantastic. Over far too soon.”
From arrival to departure we were greeted by the most friendly, helpful and efficient staff who really could not do enough to make your stay comfortable and incredibly easy. Hotel food was lovely but the surrounding restaurants were also fantastic and only a stones throw away, for those who require low effort. The hotel organise daily volleyball and tabletennis competitions which are obviously optional but make activities very easy to partake in. For a couple who work hard and want to combine activity and rest its perfect. The only negative side was the cabaret. So bad it was funny. Its over by 11pm though so doesn't disturb your sleep if your room is directly above the bar. .

Carvoeiro, Portugal: At the head of a long verdant valley the popular, pretty little resort of Carvoeiro opens onto a small golden cove. Steep cliffs dotted with traditional houses rise to either side while the surrounding area has been heavily developed with low-rise apartments. Fishing boats ferry holidaymakers to less busy picture-perfect coves at Benagil, Carvalho and Marinha. Adjacent, the curious eroded rock formations of Algar Seco are worth exploring.
