“Will certainly return”
Highly recommend. We went in October,so it was fairly quiet which suited my partner and me. The rooms are basic but more than adequate and were cleaned most days. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The grounds were lovely and well maintained as was the pool. All the facilities you need are there if you just want to stay put and chill out. The local beach is excellent and only a 20 min walk or a 10 min train ride which is fun. Look foward to returning
“Very Impressed”
This is a fantastic place to stay, the staff are warm and welcomimg. The location is great, the local beach fantastic, Santa Luzia the next town was also lovley and it was easy getting into town for sightseeing. The food was good and teh entertainment was fun.
“Good place for relaxation”
A good friendly warm and helpfull place i went alone just for a bit of relaxation and it was the perfect place everyone was friendly staff were very helpfull not a very british tourest resort i think the locals have keept it to them selfs because it is such a nice place the beach is brill and the journey to get there is amazing great place for familys with small children i am hopefully going back again next year try it!
“Very nice”
A very pleasant resort with mostly portuguese families, nice not to be surrounded by brits. Our appartment was very nice split across 2 floors and with good outside areas. The pool was nice but a bit cold (easter) same for the beach.
“Great time”
Hotel staff were very nice. The 1 bedroom apartment was kept clean and fully equipped, the terrace was a big plus. Only little detail is that we had twin beds. There is a nice supermarket on site which is convenient to buy a few things for breakfast. The pool is clean and the restaurant really good (big portions, you won't be hungry!)The walk to the beach is enjoyable (the train is fun too) and the beach superb. Totally satisfied.
“Wonderful, relaxing visit”
We stayed for 3 days in a studio and found the accomodations spacious, clean, convenient, and comfortable. the studio had an interesting arrangement. At first it looked like we'd sleep on the sofa in the living room, until we discovered sliding panel partitions that slid open to reveal a bedroom and bath, and a kitchenette. Even though it's very close to the beach it did get hot, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. We'd definitely stay here again when visiting the beach in Portugal. The Pedras d'el Rei resort seems to cater mostly to Portuguese and some other Europeans. Even though didn't see any other Americans there while we visited, we had no difficulties communicating as the front desk was friendly, helpful and spoke enough English. It was a nice way to vacation in the relaxed local style. We joined friends from Portugal who stay there for their summer vacation.
“Good hotel at reasonable cost”
Having booked this hotel at short notice on the basis of other reviews I had high hopes and wasn't disappointed. On check in we were upgraded to an apartment from a studio. It was lovely with balconies on both levels overlooking a large grassy area. As a birder I was delighted as i saw several new species there. We ate in the restaurant once and it was very good with excellent attentive service. The apartment was cleaned regularly and the beds made daily. It was fitted with air-conditioning which doubled as heating and it was very efficient, heating the rooms quickly when required at night (Feb). We are considering returning in July for another visit. The surrounding area is good for cycling and walking and nearby Santa Luzia has many good restaurants and cafes.
“Same time next year”
The room was small, but clean and very well equipped. My only real gripe was that it felt (and smelled) a little damp - but possibly that was due to the unusual weather around the time of my visit. I didn't use the restaurant, but instead made use of the well-equiipped kitchen (that little oven turned out great chips!). My only other problem was with housekeeping, who turned up very late several times (once they did not arrive until 6.15pm, by which time the last thing I wanted was to be disturbed so they could clean). That said, the housekeeping staff were very thorough and friendly.
“énormément de charme”
Un beau village de vacances
“ENDROIT AUTHENTIQUE ET SAUVAGE”
joli endroit tres agreable en famille

Area:
Tavira, Portugal: A handsome riverside town, Tavira is famous for its elegant 18th- and 19th-century architecture. Shunning mass tourism, it leaves international-style bars, restaurants and shops to satellite areas such as the beach resort of Cabanas. There are very good local seafood restaurants however. Its medieval castle ruins offer a panoramic view of the town which includes some fine churches. The beaches close by are long, flat and sandy.
