Not a great experience. Hotel has 2 separate bldgs that we had to take 2 elevators to get to our room. Front desk staff is ok. The room has the weirdest set up. Open concept and a jacuzzi in between the bed. There was a leak in the toilet that created a huge puddle and spreading to the room (open concept). Location is good but noisy at time. Tv remote and TV are not working for us despite taking 3 trips to front desk as phone is not working either. Not recommended!

It was off season and the weather was cold and rainy (end of March) so I didn’t get a good showing of the property. The pool was closed and run-down looking. I rented a car and drove down from Lisbon. Which was great, until I got to the hotel. The streets are so narrow…You really can’t even pull over to get your bags out. You have to park almost a mile away. So I would recommend not staying here if you have a car. With that said, everything around there is walkable and the location is good and Albufria,. The hotel itself is very confusing since it’s built on it hill and you have to change elevators to go to the bottom or top. I found it honestly a little eerie walking around the hotel… especially as a solo traveler. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful.

Lovely three night stay in the heart of Albufeira. Hotel is in a great location with a high end finish. Lots of spots for sunbathing and relaxing. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and enough to choose from. All staff were super lovely. We ask for a late checked which wasn’t a problem at no extra charge. All in all a great stay would be back!

Convenient location in the town, however the noise from the street at night is not for everyone. Very clean , staff is great. Not a fan of the open concept bathroom.

No help in parking to unload. Hotel helped to park when leaving. Without Waze I never would have found the place. Long walk to free parking. Breakfast not included.

The property was in a great location. It was not as clean as I would have liked. The biggest problem was my partner and I got over forty bed bug bites. When we reported this the desk clerk said they were sorry but found it hard to believe!

The hotel is in an excellent location, close to bars, restaurants, shopping and the beach. A 15 minute walk will get you to a wonderful bakery and two very good grocery stores. The staff at the hotel were very nice and accommodating. The breakfast was quite good, it had freshly squeezed orange juice and you can choose from a menu. The room was large with a nice large balcony overlooking the bars and restaurants. Some reviews said that it was noisy, however even with the music playing at one of the bars we had no issue and had a good night sleep. Finally the bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

The staff were super friendly and helpful. The hotel was well equipped. Shower was great but the bathroom was all open, which I’m not used to but I suppose it’s a matter of preference. The bed was firm but comfortable, I slept like a baby. Would stay here again

Clean spotless, great service, amazing friendly staff. Great location close to nightlife but also close to old town. Fantastic stay, room facing the strip can get a bit noisy but if you keep windows close it helps a lot. There is nothing not to like here, just a great hotel with great hospitality.

The location is right in the heart of the entertainment area of Albufeira…if you are there for the nightlife it’s perfect! Rooms are nice, but you can hear the loud music until quite late at night. Breakfast very good, nice to have laundry facilities, staff helpful.

A couple of issues. One controllable by the hotel, the other not so much. We noticed there was lack of the shower, likely broken seal of the glass shower walls. The other is just the location of the hotel in old town, above one of the noisiest bar. Unless you are in Albufeira for a party and staying up to 2-4am in the morning, you may want to choose to stay away from the core of old town.

The hotel was very modern, clean and the hotel staff were friendly however the noise at nighttime was unbearable. Loud music until 3-4 am every night. So hard to get to sleep even at 2am. I wouldn’t say again. We asked to move rooms but they couldn’t accommodate us and said it wouldn’t make much difference. The pool was also small and absolutely freezing, so cold you couldn’t stand for more than a few moments in it. Disappointing.

Very clean and modern property! It was central and walkable so many restaurants, bars and the beach. As other reviews mention it’s right on the strip of the bars and music is played in the streets and goes quite late. I had requested a pool view room which is higher up and farther from the street so the noise was manageable. The patio doors to the room do a good job of keeping noise out and the hotel provides ear plugs. Also the breakfast provided was fantastic, lots of options including healthier options. More expensive than breakfast at surrounding restaurants, but I think it was worth it for what you get. Overall happy with our stay!

Great Hotel, in a great location, with a lovely rooftop pool. The room was beautiful! the food and drink was superb. The spa was one of the best we had ever been to. The staff were so friendly and always willing to help. We will definitely be back! thank you Hotel California for making our stay so special.
