The room was extremely hot! Our entire wall near beds had no working outlets or lights. Had to constantly lower air to try to sleep .

Great Stay
Even though it was out of my way, this hotel was a good find. Clean, quiet and excellent night clerk with great dinner recommendation. Definitely will stay here if im in the area again.

I think a hotel of this caliber should have a microwave in the rooms. Y’all have a fridge but no microwave that’s kind of defeating the purpose .it’s still an inconvenience

Horrible experience
The towels had makeup stains on them and pubic hairs. That was 3 out of 4 towels. The toilet seat had dried up pee all over it. Then when taking a shower the shampoo bottle was empty.

Worst Hotel Experience Ever
The hotel advertises its “Enhanced Cleanliness Measures” and “Safety Measures.” I arrived late Monday night. On the long walk to the elevator I encountered paint cans & trays on the floor throughout, hotel rooms with no doors, wires stick out out of walls, carts that I had to squeeze to get by, carpet that was being pulled up, and duct hoses at least 12in in diameter that I had to step over, plus the distinct smell of Sheetrock powder and torn carpet in the air. At approx 4 am, I heard another loud crash which wasn't unusual at this hotel, but I quickly realized this crash was inside my room: the glass shower in my room fell from its connector, hit the floor and broke into a million pieces that shot all over the room. I quickly found some shoes and started to separate the glass from my things. I was finally able to contact the front desk by just going there. I told them I had limited time to clean up, move, and get to work, so they put me in a room across the hall. I hurried back to the room, only to find the key I had been given did not work. Key/handle pitons on both doors. When I finally got in the 2nd room, no AC, the temp was in the 90s. Staff told me it would get better, just needed to run. Came back at 11am, room still in 90s. I told manager I was leaving ,wanted a refund—she REFUSED. Instead gave me points for 1 night at different hotel. Awful hotel, awful service. Paid for 3 nights, got 1 decent night at another hotel. Rip-off!

What they don't tell you is this property is under construction. And it's not the Avalon hotel it's the Sheraton now. Would have been nice it they tell you this before you drive around looking for a hotel you've booked and the name has changes.

The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. That was the only good thing about this hotel. They were in the middle of a remodel so half of the hotel was messy and covered with paper. Tried to check in but they were having issues so after 30 mins, they asked me to come back. I returned 2 hours later only for there to still be issues. So in total it took 1 hour to check in. Had to change rooms because ac wasn't working. Tried to have breakfast but couldn't because there was nothing to drink due to staff forgetting to turn the juice machine off and guests drinking it all at night. All of these issues and the only compensation offered was 1 "complimentary" bottle of water.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The facility was clean and quiet. They are doing some remodeling and still had the place manageable to feel like you were not under a construction zone. The pool could be a bit clearer and colder but that could be because of the high temperatures in Louisiana. Overall I would stay here again.

We stayed here because we were playing a baseball tournament in Alexandria. It was very convenient to Johnny Downs Park and very easy to get to! The staff was friendly, and the facilities were extremely nice. If we ever come to Alexandria again, I will not hesitate to book here!

We had a 3 night stay. In that time, there was no trash pick up, no room cleaning and no clean towels. We begged the front desk for towels; late that night someone delivered 2 washcloths and 2 bath towels; we had three people in the room. Needless to say we had to run to Walmart for towels to finish out the weekend.

My room was very dusty. The bathroom had all kind of dust residue on the toilet and hair all over the shower. When I came back to my room that night my door was left open by housekeeping and they did not do any cleaning. The refrigerator did not work.

The whole building was under construction. No sign out front, on building, or on roadway. Painting paper on floor and electrical wiring in hallways. Pool didn't even have water in it. Grounds around building all tore up. No place, within walking distance to go eat.

The overall stay was okay due to renovations. Rooms were clean. Shortage of personnel at breakfast service. Bar area was not open at all.

They are upgrading the exterior building meaning noise starts at 7 in the morning. Floors weren't very clean and room didn't smell fresh. Very nice rooms and baths.

The pictures I’d the pool are misleading. It’s decent enough, as in able to swim. There aren’t any pretty fountain type sprays of water and both hot tubs were out of commission. It needs a serious pressure washing too. The lady at check in wasn’t the friendliest and that was told to me at the pool after I met her. The ice machine on the first floor was out too. Didn’t get breakfast so I can’t comment as to it. It’s not a horrible hotel, and I know everyone has shortages so I’m not trying to be too harsh but it could definitely use some improvement. Also whoever stayed in our room before us left clothes and a towel that housekeeping didn’t get

Priscilla, I am so sorry that the dates of your stay was right in the middle of issues with the pool...those issues as far as the fountains have been repaired...Also the jacuzzies are going away as we get ready for a fire pit and grilling area by the pool. Your housekeeping issues were reported to the housekeeping supervisor and more training was done to help insure those things do not happen .Hope when you are in town again you stop by...We are out of the Wyndham family so we can get ready to join the Marriott Family in the next few months as they get our property management system together.
