Hotel staff saves the day

The hotel is old and needs upgrades. The lower level rooms smell like mildew. Thankfully the wonderful staff moved me to the upper floor. The continental breakfast was lacking.

Checked in and immediately checked out. The smell of cigarettes was overwhelming. Very old and dirty.

Pros: Once in the room, beds were clean and comfortable.
Cons: Better lighting in entry and hall. Fresh coat of paint and all carpeting replaced or at least very well cleaned.
Location: Conveniently located on Route 20 and fairly close to the freeway.
Room itself was not great but OK. But the halls had an odor and were dark and not clean. Would not be surprised if room rentals were by the hour! Hotel rating was deceptively high.

Pros: Friendly staff, clean
Cons: I can't think of anything as we only stayed one night.
Since we only had one day, the staff suggested we see the USS Slater. My husband is a vet and thoroughly enjoyed. Unfortunately we were unable to go the State museum, but we read about and it is very impressive, as Albany is the capitol of NY.

The hotel location is excellent for those wanting close access to shopping and the highway. The staff was very nice and helpful. The room was adequate but the AC system was not working right and couldn't be regulated. Not only was the room freezing but also very damp. Our clothes all felt wet from the moisture in the room.

Needed a room for the night

I made this reservation online. I was hugely disappointed. The hallways smelled like mold. The room smelled like mold. So it was no wonder the room had mold all over the window frame and ceilings. I checked out the next day. I will never return.

Pros: The room's cleanliness.
Cons: Spruce up the back entrance.
Location: I was on my way to New Hampshire, no plans to look around. Price Slashers! was up the road, taking a left out of the hotel, about a ten min. drive.
The entrance to the back of the hotel, near where my room was located, was not attractive. Once in the room however, I was impressed by the cleanliness, top on my list for anywhere I stay. For the price of a one night stay, I could overlook aesthetics. Also, breakfast was included! I didn't have to miss my morning oatmeal, and theirs was quite satisfying. Helpful staff!

Misleading - booked one received another room type

Pros: I liked the location as it was close to I-90.
Cons: Air conditioning is definitely need improvements. As well as coordination with the selling websites for the accurate information is required.
Location: It was close to I-90 which makes this hotel convenient for passing travelers.
We stayed in in Days Inn Albany, NY one night on our way from Toronto to Boston. I placed my booking via expedia.com website where I was promised two queen beds. However when I got to hotel I got a two double bed room. When I complained, I was explained that was my actual booking as the price I paid via expedia is the double room price. Everything else was ok for the price I paid.
