Great 10+ days stay; got an upgrade. Thank you Expedia!
A slight hiccup; at check out the reception overcharged us AD600/- for an AD80/- mini bar item . After charging the AD 80/- the reception promised to refund the overcharged AD600/- to to my Amex..not yet done.
As I paid part of the charges in local currency, they should have paid the overcharged money in cash without refunding to Amex as Amex charges handling charges and exchange fees!!!
Still waiting for the refund!
The Gym was closed...had to walk to the other side to Sheraton Gym
Stayed at this hotel from 5th March to 11th March 2015. A pleasant hotel with friendly n helpful staff from the doorman to the bell hop to the housekeeping right to the receptions. Hotel is within walking distance to Mall Of Emirates, Lulu Supermarket n various cafes n restaurants. I had sprained my ankle on the 4th day n the hotel even provide me with the use of a wheelchair for the rest of my stay FOC. The rooms are clean each time we came back but bottled mineral water are only provided on the first day. Coffee n tea making available n stocked up each day. Toiletries are basic, bottled shower gel stucked to the wall, better to bring your own.
Wifi are ok for surfing or simple chat with ur families back home but if u want to use Line or Wechat or Skype to call or video call, the connections sucked, cant even get thru unless u are willing to pay. I had better free connections in Dubai Mall lol.

The 3 Star city hotel was built in 2010 and is ideally located right across from the Mall of the Emirates and close to Dubai …More
I stayed here for 3 nights on a quick stop off in Dubai on the way back from Thailand.
The location is good very near the Sharaf DG metro station. A single journey costs 10.50 dirham (about £2) and I got it from the airport. The immediate surroundings aren't very pretty and there is a lot of building going on but I think that applies to everywhere in Dubai. The hotel is modern, clean and more a of business crowd but it didn't matter to me. The price for this place is what I as looking at as it's somewhere in the middle and if you're not bothered about your view this is a good base. The Mall of the Emirates is a 5 minute walk up the street and also has a stop on the metro.
My room was great. Good shower and very comfy bed. It looked internally into the atrium overlooking the dining area but I didn't spend much time in it. There was a little bit of noise at night but I was that tired from my days exploring that I was soon out for the count. I didn't use the pool so can't comment on this.
Breakfast is 80 dirhams a day if it's not included. There was a great choice on the buffet and eggs and pancakes cooked fresh. My only grumble is the wifi. In this day and age wifi should be free everywhere. In this hotel it is free downstairs in the public areas but if you want it in your room you have to pay.
All the staff are great and helpful if you have any query. they also have a shuttle bus to the beach at 10am and the mall - but you have to book the day before. Would stay again.
