The Duodo palace was the perfect place to stay to visit all the main attractions in Venice. It is centrally placed between San Marco and Rialto Bridge and was reasonably easy to locate after arriving by water bus from the airport. The hotel is in a quiet little square just off the main thoroughfare. The reception staff were very helpful and able to give us lots of information on places to visit. The rooms were beautifully decorated and very clean. Breakfast was continental and self service with the option of having a cooked breakfast at extra cost. We found the continental to be quite sufficient and it was regularly freshly restocked.
All in all we had a wonderful time both at the hotel and in Venice City and would certainly recommend this as an excellent holiday destination!

Beautiful hotel, central to San Marco and Rialto. Arrived by water taxi from port (highly recommend), straight to hotel door. Elegant foyer, very distinguished professional staff. Luggage held until checkin time (and when we checked out also). Room we had, junior suite for three, was huge, soft golden furnishings, huge bed with double sofa bed for our son. Overlooked canal with opening windows. In the centre of our floor was a shared lounge area, with large balconies overlooking canal, very romantic. Included breakfast was wonderful, very helpful waitress with good selection. Absolutely loved our time in Venice, and if lucky enough to return will certainly stay at the Aqua Palace again. (and the airconditioning worked perfectly!)

The welcome was exceptionally warm, we were given a lovely snack with wine in the garden whilst our cases were taken up to the room. All areas of the Hotel are spotlessly clean and stylish. The breakfast room is attractive and intimate with a vast choice of foods for all tastes and the option of cooked eggs and/or bacon offered. The Garden is neat and tidy with plenty of seating. Breakfast could be taken in the garden or the breakfast room.
All members of staff we met are polite and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Most of the other guests we saw were couples or pairs of couples.

We were blown away by our room which came beautifully decorated and with its own private balcony - a haven from the crowds in Central Venice on a v hot day. The staff couldn't have been friendlier and or more helpful. It's not the cheapest place in town but definitively worth it for a treat...

Only having one night to spend in Venice post-cruise, we could not have selected a better hotel. The hotel is in a "new" building, which is quite rare for Venice, as most buildings are at best remodeled. So while not quite as rustic as others, the fact that it is new provides for all modern and useful features, such as bathrooms (with heated towel racks, top of the line A/C, lighting, etc. The included breakfast buffet was top notch, and was served in a very nice dining room on the 2nd floor. The highlight of the hotel had to be the rooftop bar / lounge, again a nice perk to the new facility. The bar provided 360 degree views of the city, with comfortable seating areas and two-person lounge chairs / cabanas. The drink prices were also very reasonable, especially compared to other bars, and in consideration of the views. The front desk staff and porters all spoke very good English, and helped us with a great dinner reservation, activity suggestions, loaned us an umbrella when it rained, and more. In particular, the hotel provided a free tour of one of the blown glass factories on Murano. This included free water rides to/from the island of Murano, a tour of the glass-making process where we got to see the artists at work, and a visit to the showroom / store. There was no obligation to buy, but we did select a few nice pieces at reasonable prices (especially considering we saved 50-80 Euro in taxi fares.
