We chose the Hotel Moresco based on the excellent reviews we had read.
We were very pleased to find that the reviews are true. We have stayed in many "fancier," i.e. 5+ stars, more expensive hotels all over the world. And the Moresco is by far one of our favorite hotels ever. The staff is professional yet warm. The interior and facilities are comfortable, clean, and inviting. There is an overall feeling of generosity that is unmatched by any of our other hotel experiences.
When we arrived (on foot from the train station - not a big deal of a walk), we were welcomed, shown to the lovely garden, and offered free drinks. Cold water, Prosecco, out in the garden while someone got our bags to our room (which was ready upon our early afternoon arrival)? Yes, please! Gratis snacks were brought as well, and we unhurriedly enjoyed the respite.
Same feeling is true during the evening happy hour each night in the hotel's bar/library. While guests do pay for drinks, a very generous spread of food is set out and replenished - pasta, sliced meats and cheese, olives, etc. This hospitality went on long past the advertised hours, and in fact in returning later after dinner, we noticed that there were chocolates out. The cozy, welcoming atmosphere encourages some mingling among guests. We have never been the types to try to make friends with other travelers in a hotel, but here it was natural to chat, and the guests were all pleasant and fun, from all over the world.

This is a very pleasant and friendly hotel. The situation is excellent, easy to get to (importantly, it's only a few minutes' walk from a waterbus stop and a traghetto crossing on the Grand Canal) and an easy walk from several major landmarks. My room, although the cheapest, was a good size and included a huge wet room/shower, minibar, ipad with free wifi, desk, etc. The breakfast was fantastic, including freshly made crepes and omelettes, fresh fruit, hot savoury pastries, fresh cakes, rolls, meats, etc. The staff were helpful and friendly, even checking the day before I left that I knew about a public transport strike on the day of my departure and offering to help. I would happily stay here again.

Me and my wife decided to go to Venice for our 5th anniversary, and used trip adviser along with expedia to book the nicest hotel on a very tight budget. The reviews were absolutely correct. The staff treat you like a mix between family and royalty. Service is unbelievable, breakfast was great every day. For the price you could not find anything better.
Transportation to Venice is easy and straight forward without a car. It is quiet and peaceful.

"Beautiful hotel close to 1 of the 4 main bridges"
We wanted to stay somewhere very traditional and would know that we were in venice as soon as we woke up,this hotel was perfect for that. It's very close to 1 of only 4 bridges that cross the grand canal and if you are catching the train to venice it's perfect! However I'd recommend the private boat that the hotel can arrange for you, obviously it is more expensive but is a great experience with someone meeting you at the airport and dropping you at the hotel door.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful, nothing was to much trouble. We were celebrating my husbands birthday and arrived back at our room to find a birthday cake for him, which was a nice end to a great day. We couldn't fault anything, we had a great time

Booked this hotel for a few days visit to Venice. In the perfect location to get about and see all the sights. Very comfortable hotel, very clean and staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast choice was very good for a buffet. Our room was delightful, Gold in colour and linen and furnishings were top class. The terrace wasn't open whilst we were there, a lot of rain and it was closed.
A La Commedia hotel all in all is a brilliant place to stay for a wonderful time in Venice.
