The Duodo palace was the perfect place to stay to visit all the main attractions in Venice. It is centrally placed between San Marco and Rialto Bridge and was reasonably easy to locate after arriving by water bus from the airport. The hotel is in a quiet little square just off the main thoroughfare. The reception staff were very helpful and able to give us lots of information on places to visit. The rooms were beautifully decorated and very clean. Breakfast was continental and self service with the option of having a cooked breakfast at extra cost. We found the continental to be quite sufficient and it was regularly freshly restocked.
All in all we had a wonderful time both at the hotel and in Venice City and would certainly recommend this as an excellent holiday destination!

This is a very pleasant and friendly hotel. The situation is excellent, easy to get to (importantly, it's only a few minutes' walk from a waterbus stop and a traghetto crossing on the Grand Canal) and an easy walk from several major landmarks. My room, although the cheapest, was a good size and included a huge wet room/shower, minibar, ipad with free wifi, desk, etc. The breakfast was fantastic, including freshly made crepes and omelettes, fresh fruit, hot savoury pastries, fresh cakes, rolls, meats, etc. The staff were helpful and friendly, even checking the day before I left that I knew about a public transport strike on the day of my departure and offering to help. I would happily stay here again.

I booked Hotel Moresco based on the reviews I read online. I had very high expectations and they were all met. The location was perfect for us. A quiet neighborhood that was a 10 minute walk from the train station. We were given a warm welcome and a glass of presecco out in the garden upon arrival. Our room was ready so we were able to check in early. We had 3 windows in our room all with a canal view on the side of the hotel which also overlooked the garden. While the walk to St. Marc's square was a bit further (approx 30 minutes) it was very enjoyable and we did a lot of sightseeing along the way. For visitors that do not want to walk that far, the hotel was a short distance from the vaporetto. The breakfast was wonderful and the staff were all very warm and friendly.

We absolutely loved our room at the Aqua Palace! A little hard to navigate our way there since it was our first time to Venice... A bit if a corn maze experience, a bit overwhelming with luggage. We found it an adventure though and were thrilled to see our room upon arrival! Paid extra for the junior suite and view ( well worth it) and the breakfast just blew us away! We could walk to St Marco square in 5 minutes and the Rialto in a few more ( just great location it turned out). There are mini lobby's in each floor too to hang out in... We were overwhelmed by the comfort and design of this hotel. Trash pick up outside our window woke us each day but a small inconvenience since we did leave our windows open... Would recommend closing them, to help eliminate or lessen the noise outside in the morning. We will definitely stay here again!

We wanted a reasonably priced four star hotel preferably situated by one of Venice's canals. The Hotel Canal Grande fitted the bill perfectly. Its situated about 300 yards east of the railway station on the southern bank of the Grand Canal. It has its own landing stage so we were able to take a water taxi directly from the airport to the hotel - the perfect way to start a Venetian holiday. The welcome we received from the hotel staff was warm, friendly and helpful. Our rooms were good sized with the cheapest mini bars I have come across anywhere in the world. We were pointed to good restaurants, provided with a free trip to Murano (worth doing if you want to buy expensive glassware) and although no one goes to Venice to stay in a hotel a secure comfortable and welcoming base is essential and that's what the Hotel Canal Grande provides.
