"Take the Executive Room"
Having booked a one night stay at this hotel I followed up as suggested in the literature to ensure that our room would be well away from any event that might have been taking place there. We were immediately upgraded to Executive Room status for which we were both delighted. There was a wedding reception being held i the main area of the hotel and indeed it was noisy but we were well away from this and heard nothing - exactly what we like to experience. The room bed and everything was excellent as was the breakfast the following morning. Highly recommended but do ensure you specify your room preference. Would stay there again.

"convenient for railway station and city centre"
In spite of my having booked and paid for a room with breakfast included, each time I went for breakfast, I was asked my room number and, on giving it, was told I had not booked for breakfast. This was very annoying as I knew I had. On arrival my key card did not work and as I was on the 3rd floor I had to go down to Reception to ask about this. The receptionist swiped my card and I went up and tried again but it still did not work and when I complained again apparently I had been given the card for the room opposite. The waste paper basket was useless as the bottom of it had come away; the cleaner must have been aware of this but had done nothing about it. The hotel itself had had a very tasteful refurbishmentn and had retained the beautiful wooden doors and staircases which I had remembered from many years previously.

"Eat somewhere else"
The hotel was great, however the food in the restaurant was poor quality, some items were cold and the size of the portions were less than you would expect for the price. My wife had the Lamb and it had two small lamb cutlets and a tiny scoop of potatoes. I had the burger which was of a standard you would get in pubs who charge £5 for 'beer and burger'. Simply poor quality and value all round for the food. The rooms and hotel were really good though

"Overnight stay for graduation ceremony."
Close to the motorway, yet only a short drive to access Leicester centre. Entrance was welcoming, and the staff were helpfull as soon as we walked in, without being overpowering. Our rooms were clean and welcoming too. We decided to stay in for our evening meal, and thoroughly enjoyed our Spanish buffet - lots of variety and options to choose from. Again the waiting staff were very attentive, and when they overheard us discussing plans for our son's graduation the next day they appeared first of all with a glass of champagne for him, and then later with a dessert (quite coincidentally his favourite!) with 'Congratulations' written on the plate! A thoughtful touch, which made him feel special and added to his overall graduation experience. On the down side the cost of a bottle of wine was much more than we would have paid in other restaurants for the same brand! Breakfast was substantial, with lots of variety, and the check out experience was straightforward too. The only grumble was having to pay for the car park overnight - it seemed to be just a way of collecting extra revenue, and not necessary.

"Value for money, but....."
...an average experience. newspaper ordered never materialised - no charge. Room westerly facing but no aircon on a warm day, so room frustratingly warm and lacking opportunities for ventilation. Otherwise comfortable and a good breakfast.

The initial impression of the two rooms we booked, were the room was large and had one double bed. Upon closer inspection we found that the heated towel rail in the bathroom did not work, nor did the heat lamp. The dressing table cupboards looked as if there had previously been a fridge inside which had now been removed, leaving the cupboard unsightly. Lighting in the room was very poor. Half the remains of a trouser press were evident in the specially designed enclosure. We had booked this hotel, due to a wedding we were attending at the same place. Our expedia rate of £89 room only had originally seemed very good. However, there was a wedding guest rate of £59 with breakfast for a 2 double bedded room , which was very annoying as when we tried to transfer our booking over to this we were told we could not. So we ended up paying higher rate for lower standard room. There was no hotel guide in the bedroom to tell you what time or where breakfast was served or general information about the other facilities at the hotel

"nice hotel with lovely lobby"
Only stayed 1 night but really enjoyed the comfort and quietness of the room and location. We used the pool and sauna on Friday early evening, not too busy to enjoy a good swim and a relax. We didn't eat at the hotel but the dining room and dessert cabinet looked lovely and the lobby and reception area had lots of comfy seating areas with an impressive central fire place. The bedroom was spacious with 2 double beds. The décor was in restful colours. There was plenty of storage if staying longer and a large TV to watch. The bathroom was large and there was a separate outer part with sink and large mirror. The only downside to this is all the lights come on for this area when you are in the closed bathroom therefore a bit disturbing in the night. It is £5 a night for residents to park.
