Our holiday was during the October half term right at the end of the seasons. For us it was the perfect time. The hotel leads onto a secluded beach and there were hardly any other people using it. The water is crystal clear, shallow for several metres, with very small waves - perfect for our 2 primary school aged kids. You can also catch a boat to Dubrovnik (which takes about half an hour) and surrounding islands from the beach. The hotel itself was nice enough although starting to look and feel a little tired. The staff were mostly friendly although we did have a slight problem with our room on arrival which we think could have been handled better. I will say that the staff running the kids club were superb and our kids really enjoyed the activities. Food was ok but nothing to write home about, although there was certainly a large selection which catered for most tastes. The 2 outdoor pools were really nice and it had the added bonus of a heated indoor pool. The old town was a 10min stroll which has cafes, bars, shops etc. and is well worth a visit. Overall, it was a really nice break during a quiet season. I suspect it will be a lot busier during the summer months and probably a lot more activities going on, in and around Cavtat.
