Excellent hotel location in the City of Guangzhou. The subway access is just outside the hotel, the surrounding area affords a wide variety of resturants, hangout spots, 10 minute walk to shopping on Beijing Lu (Beijing Road), another 10 minute walk to the wild water front area of the Pearl River.
After 11pm your guests need to be checked in at the front desk (with credentials) and check out on the way out after their visit. The staff speaks proficient English at the front desk, you can exchange money and room assistance is excellent.
We had a standard room and was immediately upgraded to a business class room for free. Maybe a one time thing...who knows.
Even though I never ate at the hotel, the prices is affordable...if not the options are endless around the Haizu Square area where the hotel is located.

"Don't Go to Guangzhou without staying at the Paco"
We loved this place, and I can't wait to return. The Paco is located in a quite pocket of center city that allows access to the subway and buses and taxis in less than a one minute walk. In all directions are great choices of historic sites, restaurants and shopping. The Paco staff was extremely professional, and they always had 2-3 persons around who spoke excellent English.
The executive suite room was very clean and comfortable, quiet and secure, with GREAT showers and bathrooms, extremely comfortable beds, big windows, in room fridge, etc. For the small difference of 48 Yuan ($8 USD) per night, the suites are a much better choice over the standard room. The included breakfast buffet is HUGE, with a nice choice between traditional Chinese and western, with Dim-Sum or bacon and eggs, with lots of sweets, cappuccino, etc. We left each day with plenty of fuel from the buffet
Lots of Europeans, Chinese, Japanese and others stayed at the Paco. The place is truly international and caters to professionals as well as tourists. The staff was great and took care of our every request.
I walked around and saw several of the other Guangzhou hotels that you will find on Expedia withing just a few blocks. I have to say the Paco is far nicer and in a much quieter place than many of the other 4 and 5 star choices, and the price is excellent. For the money, this place is so close to 5 star that I just won't bother to shop next trip. I'll just book here again.
