"Looks Great, Service Slightly Disappointing"
My wife and I recently stayed at the Neeld Arms, as nearby Bath was fully booked and we needed to be in Bath early on the Sunday morning. The building was beautiful to look at, promising much on arrival. We had an OK stay but would not return. We took bed and breakfast and stayed for an evening meal. The top floor bedroom was spacious and not too cold though it was chilly outside. The large double bed proved creaky and uncomfortable: we both had backache next morning. The bathroom was fine: water was roasting and shower pressure was good, but very cramped with a wooden ceiling beam set (disconcertingly) right at head height. Evening meal was very disapppinting. Given that we were paying guests in the biggest room, the squint table by the toilet door was a let down - even worse when you had to locate it yourself. It's a forgotten corner of the bar and our service proved just that. I had to go to the bar to collect my own drink, and the wife's wine was served in a glass plastered in lipstick. Food was not great - my whitebait was the worst I have ever tasted and the rest was amateur. I don't mean charming amateur. The redeeming feature was breakfast, which was shambolic in organisation - managed by a new starter with no training, and accompanied by a noisy dishwasher switched on after we sat down - but the food was really excellent. I'd recommend the Neeld Arms for a quick overnight stay, but only if you're easy-going.

"Great at the Price."
The room was fairly big, as was the private bathroom. it was also clean and tastefully furnished. My partner and I were well pleased, for the price I paid I must say it was better than expected. The food there was rather good, (for a pub). I would have to say there was no part of the experience that fell bellow expectation. That said in terms of the noise level we were given to expect loud music till 2:00am on both Friday and Saturday nights. I am sure there was to, given that Friday they had there own live DJ in full effect. However we were on the third floor and did not have a problem with it. The complimentary earplugs went unused. One thing that I really must mention is he location, its perfect for exploring the town, and we did everything on foot till we left town altogether for a day trip. The staff were kind when at both ends of our journey we needed to stash our bags at the hotel (before and after checkout) In fact they were able to provide us with a room hours earlier than agreed. I do recommend the hotel, for consistent above average service. If you need piece and a silent nights sleep, then phone ahead and ask because some rooms like mine for example are better than others, and I suspect many of there guest consider the party atmosphere downstairs a selling point. I say again it was NOT a problem for us.

"Totally basic, exactly what we needed."
There weren't a lot of amenities and the hotel is on a main road not near anything but an Indian restaurant (same parking lot) and a pub (a short walk up the hill) but we were wanting somewhere cheap near Stonehenge and this was perfect for us. The room was clean, fit 4 people comfortably with one double bed and two twin beds, and even with breakfast (cost about 8 pounds extra) this was one of the cheapest hotels we were able to book for our two week excursion. It was a great fit for our trip.

"An excellent welcome"
I have visited this hotel twice and consider it good value given the cost and facilities. All the staff are friendly, helpful and ready to do just that bit extra that makes you feel welcome. Food is well prepared and presented, and uses quality local ingredients. Some rooms may be just starting to look a little frayed at the edges but overall it is a good place to stay.

"Good quiet hotel outskirts of Swindon"
Had a good stay, friendly staff, generous breakfast, accommodation is to the side of the pub - not above it (appreciated). Quiet when I was there winter 2014. Clean, spacious double room. New accommodation - warm and cosy.
