"Brilliant. Better than expected."
Great location. Great pool area. Rooms large and I paid for a sea/pool view. Seperate bedroom and living room with kitchen arew. Lovely bathroom. We had the hotel breakfasts. You could have either continental or cooked (or both). Cooked was freshly done in front of you. Really good. Staff were really good and helpful.although it says limited maid service, our room was cleaned every day and towels changed. Towels thinner than normal but they rest dried well, unlike some of the softer ones! Pool loungers were luxurious round or rectangular with head cushions. Nice jacuzzi. Pool bar food was really good. Drink prices were normal prices unlike most other hotels! Sangria by the litre or by large glass was lovely. Reception area is modern and I want my house like that! Light up planters in the well kept grounds were a nice touch. Plenty of games on offer from darts to boules to tennis. Reception excellent and organised bike hire and airport taxi for us. Very efficient. we have stayed at 5 star before in the area but will be coming here again next time!

"A little bit of Britain in the sun"
This was my 3rd visit to this complex with different age groups. On this occasion I went with daughter (in her 20's). It is geared towards British middle age/elderly customer, Who want a little bit of 'Britain' in the sun, this would not suit everyone's taste! Food is on the whole good for a 3star. Good choice of salads and grilled meat/fish. But spanish style offerings such as Rabbit stew and grilled squid, remained on the whole, untouched (except by me!) Entertainment was low key but singers/musicians were good but most of the holidaymakers were out for a good time anyway, so dancing was enthusiastic! My daughter and I enjoyed our stay , but she felt it was a bit quiet for her, so if your more mature, and like 'Warner' type holidays in the sun, then this is for you.

"Great Value and Location "
Really nice hotel, quite basic in terms of extras but for the price we paid I would not complain, friendly staff and clean rooms, great last minute destination on a budget

"Good value for money"
Had read issues in earlier reviews around room availability but we had no problems at all. We knew the hotel was around 2 miles from Playa Blanca and hired a car - definitely a worthwhile move. Food / all inclusive options were excellent and catering facilities were very good. Complex was nicely laid out and apartment was very spacious. On the downside free WIFI was poor and we had to use the sofa cushions as an extra bed as only a double and two twins were provided despite our booking for 5 people. I could understand why the extra bed was missed on our arrival but was disappointed that the staff did not do more to resolve the issue once we raised it.

"Highly recommended"
Just returned from a weeks break there. Really nice peaceful location and although I cannot comment on the food (I opted for room only) the complex was immaculately kept and maintained. Dont forget to ask for a gate pass (gives easier access to the town and requires a 12 euro deposit). The pools are great but I never bothered with any of the onsight entertaiment. In my opinion the aparthotel shop (we had to use the Sun Tropical one as the Sun Island one was closed - there is little distance difference between the two)was similarly priced to the Netto and Spar shops in the town with a reasonable stock and the days latest British newspapers.

"Not for self caterers best as all inclusive resort"
We booked into a self catering bungalow apartment/room for 3 nights to extend a weeks holiday to 10 days. Approach to resort and Reception area impressive. This building houses the mini market, (very limited) bar and restaurants. We are mature couple with 30 years of self catering holidays. The apartments are in need of some TLC and are small especially the living room/kitchenette area. Just 2 ring hot plates, sink, fridge, small cupboard. Microwave which takes up the only worktop place. First disappointment no kettle. We had bought food from our previous resort but minimal cutlery, no bread or vegetable knifes, no chopping board. No wine glasses or large glasses for beer. If you have your own drinks you just have to use small tumbler. There is no dining table inside the apartment only a coffee table. You can eat outside on the small plastic table just 2 chairs but risk wrath of mosquitos in the evening. Shocked to find kettles come on weekly hire basis! TV also has to be paid for as does Wi-fi (you get just 30 mins free for your entire stay). However bed linen and towels excellent. Free courtesy bus to Playa Blanca/Rubicon area excellent. After a productive and informative talk with the Asst Manager we got a small kettle for free and some cooking untensils..THB group have only taken over this resort a year ago and there is refurbishment programme in place for improved s/c apartments and some outside areas around the pool. Would probably stay again just for night stopover.

"Good size apartment"
Apartment was a good size, although there were only 3 of us and the place sleeps 6 which would have been overcrowded. Tables only have four chairs, only four sun loungers and sofas wouldn't sit 6. Apartment states it is cleaned regularly but this only involved changing towels, no other cleaning was done, no extra toilet roll etc was provided. Worth asking for a pool / garden area that is in the sun. Ours was in shade 90% of the day (in summer would be better) but a little disappointing as other villas were empty and we could have had an outside area in the sun. We ended up sitting in the drive way! A starter kit of jam, butter, dry crisp bread, coffee etc was left which was great especially as we arrived late. Beds were very uncomfortable. Overall apartment was fine but nothing special.

Pocket Guide: Lanzarote Playa Blanca 3 stars Hotels

The original port and fishing village maintain an agreeable low-key buzz with good bars and restaurants, but it is the beaches that make Playa Blanca famous. West of the centre, on past the new and expanding fashionable Marina Rubicón, and a clutch of luxury hotels, lie the island’s finest golden white coves, known collectively as the Papagayo beaches. Three small cafes are the only development in this protected area.
