"Chester Court Hotel, Chester"
The Chester Court Hotel gives a very good first impression and it carries on from there. The place has a splendid friendly atmosphere partly due to the welcoming staff and then the hotel itself. We where given a chalet in a block alongside the main building so we had our own front door and parked our car just twenty yards away. It was good not to have to negotiate stairs as we had in the other hotels we had stayed in on our little tour of England. The room was very large and the adjoining bathroom also a good size and well appointed. The furnishings in the bedroom were modern and fresh and the lighting well placed. Our breakfast in the large conservatory off the main building was very good. In all truth I couldn,t understand why the hotel has only a two star rating. My last years of work before retiring was at a five star hotel and I must say the standards of the Chester Court Hotel was much higher than expected.

"Nice friendly hotel, good location"
Stayed in a small basic double economy room and it was plenty big enough for 2 people. Ensuite was very small but as this was only for 1 night it was fine. Very quiet location, ideal for Chester university and the city center.

"Great service, friendly staff, excellent food"
We were not expecting much, and what a pleasant surprise. The hotel is well located, close to Wrexham, and yet up a country lane surrounded by green gardens and fields. The sound of birds and peaceful atmosphere was lovely on a warm Summer's evening, especially with terraces and gardens to sit in. The staff were exceptionally friendly and more professional than many 5 star top rated hotels we have stayed in. The room was extremely large, and very comfortable. The decor has been updated although it is a little less than interior designed and a little dated in taste. Somehow this did not take away from the charm of the place. I liked the uniqueness of the hotel, this is not just another corporate hotel room. There is a "spa" - small pool and gym, peaceful and adequate, not in the luxury market but again rather quaint and perfectly good. The restaurant and bar offered outstanding food, fresh, appropriate menu selection, well selected taste combinations, without being pretentious. The chef even produced handbaked cheese biscuits. Well above the usual hotel restaurant offering and not far off michelin star quality. Service again was excellent and despite the restaurant being full and eating in the bar one evening we were looked after with first rate care and attention. Wifi in the room at no extra charge was exactly as it should be. All round caring, friendly, great service, excellent food, good location with a family feel.

"Good location and price"
Nice apartment, our room was small but we knew that any way and can't argue with the price. Very clean and nice inside. We had to arrive late due to some last minute work commitments , there was a fee of £20 but since that's our fault I dint mind that as it was made clear in the confirmation. Staff friendly and helpful.

Pocket Guide: Cheshire 3 stars Chester Independent Historic Hotels

Sitting on the banks of the River Dee, Chester is a beautiful city and the gateway to North Wales. The striking city walls envelop the medieval town, offering superb views of Chester Racecourse and the famous Eastgate Clock for those who walk the circuit. Grosvenor Park gives way to 20 acres of greenery, where visitors can ride the miniature railway and admire the fountains and streams along the way.
