"Excellant Easter Break!"
We found the hotel to be in an excellent location to access all of the delights of Amsterdam. It is easy to walk to most places, & very near several tram stops. Spui Sq is a short distance away, with plenty of bars/eateries. We had a quiet room overlooking the internal courtyard. The only gripe with the room was the bathroom - the shower screen did not seal against the bath properly & thus flooded the bathroom floor every time it was used. Other than that, we would thoroughly reccommend this hotel.

"Amsterdam living"
Hotel sits right on the Amstel river, the waterway after which Amsterdam is named. Surrounding neighborhood gives the feel of bing right at home. Neighborhood bars and eateries ar in walking distance as is public transportation. Amsterdam s famous Carre theater is next door and the national ballet in walking distance. A great place from which to explore the rest of the city or sit on bench in the sun on the river and watch the canal boats cruise by or read a book.

"Best winter hideout"
We stayed in the top floor (3rd floor) and had the best canal views and since it was winter, the snow made our views even more spectacular. After experiencing different coffees around this area, this is the best place for an authentic Dutch coffee. Excellent staff who tries every little thing to make our 7 day stay memorable.

"Nice hotel for weekend break"
We found hotel V to be good and all the young staff very friendly and helpful, and all spoke English well. The rooms are quite small but fine for a weekend break. The bed was very comfy! The breakfasts were good with plenty of cereals, rolls, croissants, pastries, cheeses, meats and fresh fruit on offer.

"Cheap hotel in the heart of Amsterdam"
This hotel suited my needs. The rooms were small and one of the beds was slightly slanted, but other than that, everything was good. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the morning breakfast was a nice addition. Perfect place if you want to save a buck and be close to all the action Amsterdam has to offer!

Pocket Guide: Amsterdam Canal Ring 3 stars Hotels

The classic Amsterdam image of stately canals, the Canal Loop is principally the Herengracht and Keizersgracht, lined with gracious tall 17th and 18th-century houses. Some of these are now museums, most notably the eccentric Kattenkabinet. The Amstel is a more down-to-earth waterway, lined with houseboats and famous for its classic much–photographed Magere Brug (Skinny Bridge). The floating Flower Market is also a much-loved canal feature.
