"Good hotel. Great location. "
Check in was good. Staff all very pleasant. Room was fine. Clean but the carpet was stained and the ceiling a bit grubby so needed updating a little. Bed was extremely comfortable. Air conditioning worked well. In good location within easy walking distance of everywhere. Right on Rembrandt square for the clubs and bars. Tram ran right past the hotel. Was woken at 5am Sunday morning from one of the clubs closing but that was acceptable for the location. The hotel bar was nice and relaxing and there was a good deal in the Flo restaurant for guests. The food was very good. Had a great time in Amsterdam and can't wait to go back!

"Nice hotel in the center of the city. "
The hotel is located in a central location directly in front of a tram stop making all sights easy to get to. The hotel is small but appealing with friendly staff. The biggest problems we had were that the room smelled awful when we arrived. The front desk staff immediately came to check and the sewer drain cap was off in the shower. They did not switch our room so we had to deal with the lingering smell for the next day or so. on our last night there was some sort of party in the shared courtyard that went on well past midnight. This would not have been a problem except for we had to get up at 5:00 the next morning to catch a flight so it made for some grumpy travel the next day. On the whole though, it was a comfortably sized room in a great location.

"Quick Amsterdam trip"
Great staff, great location, great price. Pros: -Staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgable about the area -Location is perfect for those who like to walk, <2km from main squares, museums, shopping etc.. -Awesome market just to the South -Price is great for what you get -Ideal for the sub-35 crowd and anyone who cares more about the neighbourhood than the room itself. Cons: -Rooms are the bare minimum in size. -Elevator is tiny so avoid if you are not able to use stairs.

"Good hotel close to Leidsplein"
Handy hotel close to Leidsplein yet far enough away that disturbance is minimal at night. Comfortable single room on third floor with double bed and en-suite bathroom, tea and coffee making facilities, small wardrobe and safe in the room. Staff were helpful, all requests were dealt with well, they also allow you to leave your luggage on your day of departure, so I didn't have to take my suitcase around on the last day :) There is a supermarket just round the corner if you want to get any bits and pieces, plus plenty of bars and restaurants. There are three coffee shops fairly close to the hotel, La Tertulia, Coffee shop Johnny and Coffee shop Crush (on the way through from Leidsplein). If you want a slightly better place to chill out and hang with the locals, go a bit further afield and look for 1e Hulp Coffee shop (great selection, vaporiser, friendly staff and comfortable seating!) or Paradox (good selection-plus you can get half a gram to try, vaporiser, friendly staff and strong space cake). Enjoy!

Pocket Guide: Amsterdam Canal Ring 3 stars Hotels

The classic Amsterdam image of stately canals, the Canal Loop is principally the Herengracht and Keizersgracht, lined with gracious tall 17th and 18th-century houses. Some of these are now museums, most notably the eccentric Kattenkabinet. The Amstel is a more down-to-earth waterway, lined with houseboats and famous for its classic much–photographed Magere Brug (Skinny Bridge). The floating Flower Market is also a much-loved canal feature.
