"A spacious room with complete kitchenette."
This is a college "dorm" during the academic year. The room is very spacious, with two single-beds, in-room bathroom/shower, two mini-fridges, microwave, and kitchen-top burners, along with all utensils and dishes you could need. There are laundry facilities and computer access on site. The check-in was smooth, with friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Amazing location was great for us with a car. Hotel was great but a bit noisy at night from other rooms. Great staff and great stay.

"Affordable "
Being on my own on a bike I would have found it difficult to find but that may just be not being in sync with the Spanish road system. Staff were friendly, knowledgable and spoke English. Cafe offered a good range of food and drinks at good prices and I never went to the restaurant. Room and ensuite were both tiny but were clean and made up daily.

"nice hotel, easy walk to the beach & old town"
a very clean hotel, basic i think only 10 rooms, you think being only 2 star that it might not be any good but it was excellent, good free wifi, safe in room etc, looks all new

Hotel Punta Monpás

Calle Jose Miguel Barandiaran, 32, San Sebastian - Map
"Nice location near in a lovely city"
The hotel is all the way at the north east end of San Sebastian. It's about a 15 minute walk to the old city and a little further to the famous La Concha Beach. The block that the hotel is on has some good bars and it's very close to the surfer beach, but other than that it's a pretty quite part of San Sebastian. Still, the exciting stuff is a short walk away. The hotel itself is quite nice, with a modern feel. The staff is very helpful and incredibly nice. One potential issue is that the bathrooms in the hotel room are stained glass only, and very thinly stained glass at that (at least in the one bedroom). If you are sharing a room, make sure that if you are very comfortable with the person you are sharing the room with as there isn't really any privacy in the bathroom.

"Welcoming pension in the old town"
Helpful and friendly communication with the proprietors before we arrived and during check in. Room was very small but I understand there are bigger ones. Difficult sleeping due to noise from air conditioning unit (either have that or roast), and on one night major disturbance from other guests. A shame as otherwise would have been a great base for our stay in San Sebastian.

Sand on the floor when we moved in. A bit small but does the job for the price.

"Great budget hotel with friendly staff. "
It was a little confusing trying to find the hotel, as there are 3 of the same in San Sebastián. Location is on outskirts of town, but very close to the bus stop. Regular buses will have you at Boulevard (city centre) in 15 mins. Alternatively, walking to the city centre and old town would be 20-25 mins. It is a budget hotel but the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Gabriel in particular, was constantly suggesting places to eat, drink and visit for our stay.

Hotel Terminus

Avenida de Francia, 21, San Sebastian - Map
"Very clean hotel"
The hotel sits on the train station, so during the day you hear the train, but because we were out for most of the day, it was not a bother at all. The room was a bit muggy and hot as you walk in, but you can open the window fully for a nice breeze and they have ceiling fans. Very neat and clean room. It was a very short walk to the main parts of San Sebastián, so the location is good. The hotel was perfect for us as we were trying to save on the cash. But if you can afford one of the apartments or hotels closer to the beach or in the main city centre, I would highly recommend you do so. This city is worth the splurge!
