"Decent stay, a little rough around the edges"
Nice, quiet and unassuming place that faces the lagoon side (not the beach side) of the Hotel Zone strip, but is tucked into a nice location that's a short walk to anything you need - within 5 minutes to the clubs, some bars and restaurants, a flea market, convenience store, beaches and more. The place is generally nice and clean, with nice little touches like archways and a little couch in our twin room, to potted plants and a generally well kept colonial look to the maze-like courtyards. Some things here and there bring down the feeling of a perfect hotel - hot water sometimes isn't there, a filthy fridge, a toilet that gets clogged easily and general cracks and peeling plaster on the walls. If you're not fussy about the little things and not planning on spending too much time cooped up in your room, then it's mostly fine.

"Not flash, but ok"
I recently spent two nights at this hotel, and it was ok. Nothing flash, but ok - just what you'd expect for that price in Cancun. The location is good if you want a cheap hotel in the hotel zone in Cancun, and you can go across the road to the lovely beach and restaurants at the nicer hotels. When I checked in they had assigned me a room on the ground floor that looked onto other buildings and the pool, which wasn't great (noisy, small, pokey room) so I asked for a better room with a view of the lagoon. They moved me to a much bigger room on the second floor with a view of the lagoon at no extra cost, which was much nicer so that was nice of them. Its nothing flash but its ok - you get what you pay for.

"Nice hotel, close to downtown "
The service was beyond excellent. It's like they read our minds. Most of the time we didn't even have to speak to get what we wanted, they already knew and got it to us

"Decent hotel on the beach"
They have a pretty cool staff, breakfast was satisfactory but they must upgrade the rooms. The bed was really uncomfortable, the pillows hard as a rock, the AC sounding like it was about to fall apart and the door! What a difficult door to open, the card reader wouldn't work most the time. We rented two rooms and it was all the same for both. If they invest and upgrade their rooms I think it will grow their business. For now I wouldn't return.

"Million Dollar View on a Thousand Dollar Budget"
We had a great time at this hotel. We stayed during Spring Break, but it was our anniversary so we went anyway. We were pretty nervous thinking we were going to run into a bunch of partying college students. Not at this hotel! Most of the crowd were people between late 20's on up into folks in their 80's. The breakfast was excellent. The lunch and dinners were good too, although I did not enjoy Italian night or Asian night. Why they don't do Mexican food every night is beyond me. When I go to Mexico, I want to eat Mexican food. I guess I'm not gringo enough to appreciate it. The room was fine, except for the bed. OMG, the bed was SO HARD! It was like sleeping on plywood with a thin sheet of foam. What we loved best about the room was the view. We had an ocean view and it was truly amazing. Any discomfort with the bed was outweighed by the view. When we got there, the AC seemed to not be working, but we know window units and it was just frozen. We turned it off and let it thaw and it worked just fine for the rest of the week. They have free Wifi by the restaurant and by the circular pool, but not in the rooms.

"Well Worth the Stay"
When we arrived I found the staff to be very nice and helpful. The room was inviting with cold air already filling the room. The pool looked very inviting. Plenty of towels and other essentials. Breakfast was served daily starting at 6:30am. Fresh fruit, pastries, eggs, a meat, cheese, cereal, juice and coffee. The breakfast staff was wonderful, making us feel welcome and like a part of the family every morning. The staff was very helpful throughout my entire stay of 8 days. Flat screen tv in the room with about 14 different channels... something for everyone. I would highly recommend this hotel and plan on staying there again when I go back to Cancun for my honeymoon.

Pocket Guide: Cancun Hotel Zone 2 stars Hotels

The Cancun Hotel Zone rests on a slit of land bound by a lagoon and the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea. Sunseekers crowd the white-sand beaches. At night, the action moves to the restaurants, clubs, and bars that line Boulevard Kukulcán, the area’s main artery. This road passes by the El Rey ruins, believed to be a king’s tomb.
