"Real value for your money"
Chose this one mostly because price and location, as well as excellent reviews. Boy, was it right! The location is prime, you can see it on the map yourself. As for the hotel - rooms are basic and not large, but big enough to be comfortable. Air conditioning supreme - not only you get an AC unit, but also a huge old-fashioned fan hanging from the celling, which is not only fun but also practical. Room is equipped with all the basic stuff apart of the fridge. It is a little tarnished and in need of refurbishing, a few dead mosquitos spots here and there, signs of wear and tear in the shower and on the walls and so on, but in the same time it was very hygienic, so if you are not too fussy you wouldn't mind. Room is double-glazed, blocking any sound from the outside, it also have supreme blinds. I would mention the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff specifically. I didn't see such attitude in the bigger and better hotels. They went all the way to please us. Even when we officially checked out, they helped us with a few fresh towels and a shower when we suddenly returned to the hotel as our plans changed and they didn't charge. Ah, and their free Internet is great, too - watch your Netflix etc. The only thing I would not recommend are the breakfasts, until you are in a hurry. It's a very boring continental set of goods from the fridge, you would find tons of places around that would offer you better for 8 euros. Overall - great little place. Would certainly recommend.

"Perfect for walk to our cruise ship."
Took airport express bus to center of Barcelona (very cheap - around 6 euros pp). Walked to hotel just off Las Ramblas about 3 blocks. Hotel reception VERY friendly. Room basic, clean, quiet area. Use their breakfast option but select when you check in for discount (9 euros per day). Full breakfast buffet & best price around. Staff very helpful for directions & recommendations to eating options nearby. The hotel price was unbelievably cheap (around 70 euros per night). Note - The hotel fronts what looks like an alley but is actually a street. Couldn't find it on our hand held GPS but came close. Full day hop on/off bus is great option for a comprehensive way to see the city (22 euros for over 65, 27 euros for adult). We plan on returning to Spain, again, & will definitely book our initial stay at this hotel.

"Excellent location"
We had a great stay here - really quirky apartment, in a central location so we were within walking distance of all the main attractions. We absolutely loved the stay here, and would definitely return The only slight criticism if I'm being really picky is that we were in the 1st floor apartment, so it was quite noisy from general hustle and bustle down below, which meant we had to keep the windows shut at night. There is air con though, so not a major issue, but next time we stay we will request an apartment slighly higher up.

"Perfect Location!!!"
Great experience at this Hotel, Perfect Location, staff very friendly. We went from England and staff were very helpful and spoke English to us. Hotel oasis cafe just to the right of the Hotel is Great!!! You are close to everywhere you want to get to. Just over the road from the hotel is the red route bus stop to get onto the open top tour bus. From the hotel we walked to port vell, port Olympic, picasso museum, aquarium, zoo, park, arc de triump, Great restaurant talle de tappa just over the side street on the right of the hotel had a lovely burger in there. Hotel was modern in the rooms, we stayed on floor 1 right at the front as long as you have the balcony shut at night the traffic is not actually a problem, but the smell of the drains can be off putting so i would ask if you could stay on a higher floor as the smell came through some nights. I wouldn't go to Barcelona again as we did everything we went to do but if i was to go again then i would definitely stay in hotel oasis again!!

"Excellent hotel on La Rambla"
Had a very pleasant 3 night stay - asked for a quiet room which we got. it is interesting to note that this hotel has 58 rooms which are wheelchair friendly, and we got one of these. It was a huge room as was the bathroom. Tiled floors and spotlessy clean. Had TV. For breakfast which was self service one had a choice of a continental or cooked breakfast, at no extra cost over the room rate. Staff were most obliging at reception and also in the breakfast room. Ideally situated, also has lift. Would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel or returning for a future visit.

Pocket Guide: Barcelona Ciutat Vella 2 stars Hotels

Barcelona's Old Town, the Ciutat Vella takes in the Barri Gòtic and the world-famous promenade of Las Ramblas. The former is the city's medieval core, a maze of atmospheric alleyways clustered around the splendid Gothic Cathedral. Quirky specialist shops and characterful bars and eateries abound. Don't miss the Museu Picasso and the Museu d'Història de la Ciutat, as much for their palatial settings as their content.
