An industrial suburb of Brussels, Anderlecht will sound familiar to any keen soccer fan as home of Belgium’s best-known football club. Its main landmark is the airy spire of the huge 14th-century gothic church of Sts-Pierre-et-Guidon. Other attractions include the Gueuze Museum, a family-run brewery producing classic Belgian beers (tours and tastings), Erasmus House, where the great scholar Erasmus lived in 1521, and a sewer museum.
