"Great centralized Hotel, great staff!"
The Lombard Plaza Motel is a great place to stay when you need a home base while exploring San Francisco. It's central to the Marina District and within easy walking distance of Muni and Bart stations. You can pretty much get anywhere quickly, and the piers are not far away. The neighborhood isn't bad either. There's a Safeway within short walking distance if you need groceries, and tons of restaurants nearby. Also parks for the kids to play at a few blocks away. As for the rooms, they aren't the most luxurious, but they are clean and stocked well by the staff. Only problem is the beds are kinda hard to sleep on. The real great thing about this hotel is the staff. They are eager to help, always clean the rooms and bring fresh towels when needed, and serve with a smile. They are so nice, and alone make me recommend the motel. Parking is a bit tight, but we did fine in our CR-V.

"A little surprised "
I did not realize when I booked the reservation that it was a hostel/hotel. I also did not realize that it had a Music Theme. Jam sessions in the basement when we were there on a Wed night.

"Nice simple hotel if u managed your expectations"
Done a fair bit of research before booking this hotel. The hotel is generally very clean even with the shared bathroom and toilet. Room is simple and large enough for one or two. Yes, the area has many homeless people but they are generally harmless and doesn't make me feel unsafe. Night time is a bit noisy with the pub below and people shouting and sirens til middle of the night. However, if u can sleep with all these noise, and don't expect a 3 star hotel standard, it is fine.

"Vintage Tenderloin vintage"
This is the standard Tenderloin vintage hotel. Independently owned, vintage in largely original state, and cheap. The rooms are small and the furnishings Spartan but frequent international travelers, especially to Eastern Europe, will feel right at home. There is nothing wrong with this place at all but you may not agree with me if your perception of right is anything suburban or modern. It is in the Tenderloin but just barely. Convenient location for traveling between Union Square and Marina.

"Bargain in SF"
Well, our friends recommended "Presidio Inn" . Upon arrival I thought, hmmm this doesn't seem like their type of recommendation. But...the room was clean, not updated but the bedding and linens were better than many. They didn't even charge for overnight parking right in front! Bargain in a good SF central location. PS - Turns out the recommendation was for Inn at The Presidio! 3 times the price!

"All in All not too bad"
The place was very clean and fairly quiet. I don't think I would stay there for a vacation with my wife and kids, but for a business trip it was more than adequate. The price was very reasonable for the accommodations provided. No coffee pot but the refrigerator and microwave were very convenient. Internet access was reliable and fairly fast for a motel.
